I GOT A NEW FAVORITE DRINK!!!! SMIRNOFF ICE!!!! BEST...DRINK...EVER!

The direct effects marijuana has on you isn't that bad...but being high can lead to an unlimited amount of dangerous situations. I've heard of and seen people do much worse things when high than when drunk. An old friend of mine (I might have considered him my best friend) attacked quite a few people once (including me) when he started doing marijuana. It changed the person he was completely...he was like one of the nicest person I knew, and when I tried hard to make him stop the weed, he eventually flipped out and hit me with his hockey stick. It was one of the saddest times of my life...I had to hold him down, he was hyperventilating and minutes later he calmed and I took him home and helped his mom take him to the hospital :( I've had a lot of friends over the years who drank a lot, but they never acted like he did...they didn't change like he did.

People can show me statistics and crap like that, but I'll always feel more comfortable seeing someone close to me with a beer in their hand instead of a joint.

I've never heard of someone being that violent before :unsure: Everytime I've been around people who were high they were just reeeeaaaaally 'mellow'... or whatever you'd call it... And they definately wouldn't attack people... :unsure:

But I guess weed (and alcohol for that matter) can have different effects on different people (and there are also different kinds of weed)... Because I know there are people who get violent when they're drunk...

Weed and alcohol have different effects on different people. Stu, it sounds like your friends body just didnt' react well with weed. That's very rare though. Both aren't good, but in our society beer's just accepted as being better.

Here in Ontario, they are thinking of decriminalizing the possesion of up to a half ounce of marijuana. This means that you will get a fine, but you just won't go to court of jail.

See that's another thing I hate about alcohol stuff... 'Girlie drinks'... Who the hell cares? Oh no, there's an alcoholic drink that actually doesn't taste like piss, let's make fun of guys who drink it for not being manly...

I drink Smirnoff Ice at the beginning of the night as a pre-drink. I go through a 4 pack or 6 pack of smirnoff ice before I go out to a party or to a get together.. then I finish myself off with beer.


Remeber:
Beer before liquer, you've never been sicker. Liquer before beer, you're in the clear.

I used to split a bottle of Jaeger with my roomate before heading out to parties.

And Stu, I'm sorry about your experience with your friend who smoked, but I pretty much guarantee you that that was a freak occurance. Smoking weed hasa been known to inspire many things, including carpentry, but rarely violence. Alcohol on the other hand... ever been to an Eagles game?:D

...wow man, this box would execllent bong, this guys head would make an execellent bong. RELAX! that's why I stopped doing drugs in the first place, not because I didn't like them, because I didn't want to build anything.

I tried to make a bong out of water cooler bottle once. I thought it would be the mother of all bongs. It didn't work, of course, but it did pass the time. Oh well.

Just before this goes any further, I'd just like to state that I was infact quoting denis leary, not anything that has happened to me.

Some of my older sister's friends made a bong out of a pumpkin... It was quite cool.

I really don't think the guy was violent because he was under the influence...I think it just kinda messed him up, and then his parents were really pissed off at him, he started neglecting people, he started acting like a jackass...he got to a point where he was just overly frustrated. I think he drank some, too...he had a group of friends that I didn't know much. When I tried to have a serious talk with him, we started to argue...he eventually just attacked me. Completely flipped out. He was just...never like that before.

I don't know what exactly weed does to you directly...but I have good reason to believe that it helped change him for the worse.
