I agree on some terms for the Tennis ordealy. I effing loved Super Tennis, and I think Nintendo should start their sportsline again. :D

Well, uh... Mario Kart is different. It's an original idea for one.

Before you throw large pointy rocks at me, Mario Kart should not disappoint in the gameplay department.

I agree with Stu, I mean the game doesn't have to look realistic, it does however need to be cleaned up just a bit.

I mean other than that I don't mind the look of the game, nice, colorful and vibrant.

I agree... But I'm simply a fan of all golf games that play like Mario golf, they keep getting better and better. Mario Golf has a lot of extra features that put it over the top though.

As for Mario Tennis, I agree also, I can't think of a tennis game I've played that's outright better.

Well these are the screens on the official site, extremely small, but eh.

viruscool 04-24-2003 02:17 PM

Yeah i agree but as someone pointed out its not quite finished yet. Yeah hopefully they make it look a little cleaner, but if they dont then i dont reall care!!

Shadow_Link 04-24-2003 02:20 PM

I totally agree that an effort should be made to make the graphics look good. The thing is though, sites like gamesradar and Cube IGN have stated that the graphics look 'brill!' and 'amazing respectively. I actually agree, that is, when I see the smaller pics (well, I wouldn't go as far as amazing, but they do look better than the large pics). Could it be that these larger pics have been bloated up, hence quality has been lost? I guess we should all wait till a video is released. Remember SMS? The graphics weren'r nearly as bad as the pictures depicted.

Anyway, I agree with all the comments about Mario Tennis. It was definately the best tennis game since Super Tennis and Smash court tennis on the Snes.

(I haven't actually played Mario Golf . But I definately plan on buying it for the Cube, that is if it's as good as the Golf mode in SMB, well, is it atleast similar? :D).

I really really really hope Nintendo makes a new Mario Golf for GBA...if they did, I would buy a GBA:SP in no time. I found the GBC version of Mario Golf more addicting than the N64 version, although both were great.

Best TV-console golf game - Hot Shots Golf 3
Best handheld golf game - Mario Golf GBC
Best tennis game - Virtua Tennis (arcade)

What was the perspective like on the GBC?

Was it overhead action?

Well, I'm trying to find the link, but I know that Mario Golf was confirmed for GBA from Nintendo on something.

IGN has it listed which is the best I can do at the moment.

Bah, doesn't anyone remember how Mario Sunshine looked at one point? Kind of like that. The faces were fuzzy. But hey, look at it now.. it's pretty much fine. The same thing will probably happen with Mario Kart.

Mario Sunshine as a final prouct still didn't look that hot. But I understand what you mean, if the curve is the same Mario Kart will look just fine.

BreakABone 04-24-2003 11:38 PM

Well here are some larger/higher-rez pictures of the two screens I posted earlier

I'm pretty sure Camelot announced gba mario golf/tennis in development. And the textures in Mario Kart DD imo are lacking in the textures. Kind of dissapointing, but it's still going to be the funnest game on the cube for me. I love the kart series.

Stonecutter 04-25-2003 02:45 AM

Golf and Tennis are definatly in developement, there were screens out about a year ago (don't think they were actually made to represent any acual game elements.)

Weather or not they're in development for the GBA is in question but I mean, this is nintendo, how could they not be?

Canyarion 04-25-2003 06:25 AM

Well, Nintendo hasn't really made any good new stuff for the AGB... just ports of the Mario games... and Wario & Game&Watch. Oh yeah Advance Wars... :)

Blackmane 04-30-2003 10:48 AM

Mario Kart is shaping up good, I just hope they do indeed incorporate a LAN to the game, and especially all the battle modes.

BreakABone 05-05-2003 10:35 AM

Well here is two pieces of art from the game, either Mario has two karts or one of them is Luigi's.

Jason1 05-05-2003 04:04 PM

Uh...thats the exact same kart there Penguin ;)

Dyne 05-06-2003 12:02 AM

Nice.. that could lead to some interesting battle modes. :D
