Hey look! It's Marionette! Good to see you again!
How was band camp? |

She's always like... Uber-busy... "i really don't see how you can call NFG better then weezer, NFG is mainstream " skater punk" which really shouldn't be punk at all, it should be emotional rock" I agree.... maintstream "skater punk" isn't even really punk... :-o Not that I really like real punk anyways... As for "Emo"... I'll say something I heard drolldurham say: "I think Emo's pretty stupid... it stands for emotional, but pretty much all music is emotional"... :sneaky: Well he said something along those lines... Just die... K? |

to stay on topic, new found glory is not that bad although i dont commonly listen to there music |

Also, basically what you are saying is that once a punk band becomes popular and thus mainstream, they aren't punk anymore? So what's the proper term for mainstream punk? I don't like the term emo either. I just use it because that's what everyone else calls it. |

I would rather listen to Avril Lavigne, which i don't like, Than listen to WEEZER. Serious, the way the weezer guy sings, is as if he's really stoned.

I don't like Weezer either though... Or Avril Lavigne... Or NFG ;) |
Well, now that we've established what we hate, does anyone have any extended opinions on the bands I listed? Or how about bands I should check out that you know?

Well what exactly do you like? Do you like punk, like NGF punk, or something...or what. As for me, i like almost anything. I like rock, punk, metal, rap and some r&b.. |

Of Montreal, The Dismemberment Plan, Quasimoto, Piebald, Koufax, Olivia Tremor Control, Magnetic Fields, Circulatory System, MC Paul Barman, Sage Francis, Aphex Twin, Rjd2, The Spinto Band :sneaky:, Aesop Rock, Black Star, El-P, Beulah, Bright Eyes, Princess Superstar, Interpol, And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, The Sea and Cake, Peanut Butter Wolf....that's all for now, might post more later. Nah, Nfg cd "new found glory" with 9 different pictures on the front, and nothing gold can stay, rocks.
But i've never heard Weezer on the radio. |

I do, but i never hear Weezer.
|
Impossible.
|
bope, maybe i listen to the radio after or way before, they play Weezer.
But anyway, i still won't change my mind on them. Has anyone ever heard of ac/dc or Guns'n roses. my other cousin listens to that but their pretty good. |

Maybe this is why he has never heard Weezer on the radio. I think he is listening to classic rock and is mistaking it for the local adult alternative station. :)
|
lol.
I seriously never heard of them on the radio, only by my friend at school, (the song i heard) Hash pipe, which i never really liked them when i heard their other songs. i just don't find them rock style or punk, even though i KNOW their not punk, ect. I just don't like the way their songs go. |
I'm not harassing you about not likeing them (I don't care much for them either), I just find it really hard to believe you've never heard them on the radio since practically every time I listen to the radio, I hear at least one of their songs.
|
I hear Island in the Sun by Weezer all the time on the radio (or at least I used to). It seems so monotonous. Lacks passion, a catchy tune... it's just not right for me.

Just thought this was interesting. :D |
Dressed to kill isn't their best song, but it's a good one.
It's True. I really like their "Nothing Gold can Stay" album, because they have a lot of catchy songs. Like #4 You've got a friend in pennsylvania, Passing time, Winter of 95', tell tale heart, ect. But if you haven't heard Passing time, it's a very good song, that goes pretty fast. |
