GameTavern - Is there a doctor in the house?

Well Jason, being a member who gets sick frequently with "Cold throats", and has a tempature that usually runs UNDER 98.6 (It's about 97.8 usually), I can give you help, plus the fact that I can't take cold medcines (that means no Dayquill, Nightquill, or any other Decongestants, only "Fever Reducers" like Tylonol and Motrin, as well as Antibiotics) I have had to resort to other "Meathods" for sore throats:

Here are a few of my "Meathods":

1. "Passion" Tea from Starbu cks, it's damn expensive, and it's an Herbal Tea, but it tastes really good (it's from Starbucks it had better taste damn good for whatit costs), even when you feel find this stuff is good hotor cold, but heat it up (make sure it's steaming), and let it brew until t's a dark "Maroon" color, sniff the steam on the tea to clear your throat (you shuld be able to "taste" the steam almost), and then start to drinkit, this is a good start, but some peopel don't like the Tea, and ignore the name, it ma be called "Passion Tea", but it tastes really good.

2. Although they aren't that good, in fact they suually suick (no pun intended), try one of the flavors of "Celstial Seasonings Soothers--Herbal Throat Drops", I usually use te "Chery" and CVS has them, even though they taste like crap, they're beter than "regular" losenges which are disgusting, take note however, even though these "throat soothers" are herbval you can only take them every two hours, and you have to take two at once, I have a bag of them on my desk still from the last time I was sick, because my sore throats hurt like hell.

3. This probably sounds stupid and is the last thing you want to do when you're sick, but it works-- Take a steamy shower, open a wind\owe or turn the bathroom fan on, and turn the shower up to the Highest Tempurature (DOP NOT GET IN IT, YOU'LL BURN TO DEATH!!), let it "Steam up" like a Tea Kettle on the Sove and just bvreathe in, you'll be coughing alot but that's GOOD, you're breaking apart the Flem. After about 5 minutes of the "High STeam", turn the shower down to a normal temperature (ONE THAT DOSEN'T BURN), and get in, wash with soap and water, but don't use a "Bar" of deoderant soap, if you're like me in any way, it hurts like hell to use that when you're sore, instead use a "Body Wash", it's usually not a deoderant soap but it feels good and pretty much does the same job, finally if you get a headache with the sore throat, and your stomach doesn't hurt, take a Motrin, they do help (my dad works for "Johnson & Johnson", so I know this stuff), if you have a stomach ache, take Tylonol instead, because it doesn't agrivate your stomach like motrin does, but it's not as good for headaches, although it seems to work on "sore throat" pretty well, and so does Motrin, This should at least make you comfortable even if you're still brining up the "green stuff", just be sure to have the doctor do a "Throat Culture" to check for Strep, I've had it before, it ain't pretty.

Ogh, and one ther thing, as stupid as it sounds, don't spend alot of time in frnt of the Computer, it hurts your eyes when you're sick, when 'm sick I might go on for a coupe of hours, but other than that, I'm off.
