And Kyuzo, perhaps I misunderstood it, it just sounded like one of your negative posts about Nintendo.

Well I know everyone thinks I'm a Sony fanboy, so I joke around a lot about Nintendo... cuz I know Nintendo fans on this forum outnumber Sony or MS fans 1000 to 1.

Probably more like 10 to 1, but I'll take your hyperbole at face value. :D

Well, you have a rep now, Kyuzo. That rep will follow you all of your days until you run away to a different country, change your passports and name, and start a new life somewhere.

Re: New Zelda Info

4 years ago it might have been 10 to1. These days it's more like 2 to 1. So for every Sony joke I make, you can make 2.
Just make sure everybody understands it's a joke... And stop feeling better (or pretending to [or making us believe you are]) just because 'your' company is doing better. We're having some tough times lately. :(

How about I just say I'm sorry for my constant Nintendo pranks and be over with it... I can be big about this situation.

No offense, but I don't want anyone getting the wrong idea.... especially your other half... :)

Sigh.

Here I thought we had a 99% game topic, for once, but I sign on and I see offtopic posts.

But I'm glad you guys are settled.

So do you guys think this game will be multi-disc? I sure hope it is. If "70 hours" all fits on to one disc, then we're probably going to see some hollowed gameplay, or something.

If it was a joke, then it was sarcasm. Sarcasm does not translate well to text, so you can hardly blame for taking it seriously. If you don't want to look like a fanboy, quit making jokes like that.

Anyway....

I wouldn't describe TWW's actual gameplay horrible... Just perhaps the organization and proportions of dungeon to nondungeon stuff...

And I see no reason to believe it has to be multi-disc. I would be very surprised if 70 hours wasn't super generous. I'd probably expect something closer to 30 hours...

Yes. You should stop. Everyone else should stop as well.

Now, back to this thread's original topic, Zelda.

I'm pretty sure it'll fit on one disc, unless they have voice acting.

To have voice acting, would be to destroy every principle that the Zelda franchise rests upon. There will be NO voice acting. Voice acting is almost as bad as revealing a picture of yourself on forums. It destroys people's imagined concept.

When you make a game, you have voices from the start or none at all ever, in my opinion.

Dyne 04-22-2005 06:25 PM

Re: New Zelda Info

WW had "voice acting."

SPLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISH!!!

I think it's going to be the same type as WW. It would make sense.

As long as they don't overuse tracks during gameplay. [see: Navi]

Teuthida 04-22-2005 06:37 PM

Also "COME-ON!"

I don't mind little quips from other characters, but if Link says even a single word, I will burn Nintendo's headquarters down.

Link meowed, and like Dan said, he would yell "Come on!" to his partners in WW.

This doesn't have to resort to arson. :(

I don't mind. If it's Mario-paced talking, that's fine.

DarkMaster 04-22-2005 08:43 PM

Re: New Zelda Info

It's already been confirmed that there will be no full voice acting for this game. The only people on board for voices are the same two guys who have done Link/misc. and Ganondorf/misc. since OoT.

Teuthida 04-22-2005 08:45 PM

Re: New Zelda Info

I have no problem with Link making little sounds like in WW. But since the dialogue is text-based...in that context he should remain mute. Like if he said "meow" or "come on" in text that would be wrong.

Agreed.

And DM's news comforts me.

I always love the grunts and noises that the characters make instead of actually talking. :D

Are you sure Ganondorf's voice actor is in? Url?

I was kinda hoping it would be like Majora's Mask, in that there is no Ganon.

Re: New Zelda Info

I give you the voice of Ganondorf! (as well Big the Cat)

And here's Link.

Both do many different voices for other video games and anime.

Canyarion 04-24-2005 05:25 PM

Re: New Zelda Info

Having someone that did the voice of Ganon doesn't mean Ganon will be in the game.

But actually I do hope he's in there, just not the standard story.

IGN's Matt seems to die for voice acting...

Teuthida 04-24-2005 06:19 PM

Re: New Zelda Info

I would just like to see how he would like in that style. His WW look was pure perfection...needs to keep the beard. As for Vaati...eh.

Someone pointed out this game looks very much like Miyazaki's Mononoke Hime. And it was said WW was sorta based on his movies. Then there's also talk about demons in the game...and there seems to be a crapload of animals...I think we'll see an entirely new badguy. Some animal demon guy...but then Ganon is a pig demon...and there are a lot of boars featured...hmm

Information from the new EGM:

-There is no voice acting.
-The official title is undecided.
-Fishing is back.
-Using Cuccos to fly is back.
-The Tauro Village is grand in scale, very realistic.
-Link is out to save Zelda from Ganon.
-No GBA connectivity.
-The article has artwork of Zelda herself, brandishing a sword.

Re: New Zelda Info

I'm kinda disappointed it's classic Zeldaness with Ganon and Zelda. Thought that was WW's job and that like with MM we would get some twisted side story.

Classic Zelda gaming for the win! :D Even though its repetitive, if its an improvement in more ways then one, im not gonna complain

Ask and you shall receive. I posted this as a link so as not to distort anything.

I'm really liking her dress. And the braids are a nice touch, too. I'm not sure from that picture whether she actually will use that sword, though. It could be just a ceremonial sword since it's so thin.
