Oh ok. But, even so, I think most people would agree that Ninja Gaiden is such an awesome game that the developers werent in the mindset of "sell it now, make it later"

And, MarioLover said that the "sell it now fix it later" wasnt a problem that the game industry had had before...but, in reality, there was something much worse. There were some developers who thought "sell it now, fix it never". Superman 64, anyone? There have always been bad games...always will. I dont think online capabilities will cause there to be more bad games, because they have to make a good game in the first place, or no one will buy it.

Instead, online functions allow them to add a level or replayability not seen before.

;)

whether people like it or not, game consoles are computers, the parts inside are basically the same type of thing. only difference is a real computer is programed to do more, while consoles are programed to do specific things.

and its a GOOD thing, PC's are way ahead of consoles in the online area. Updates, upgrades, downloads, etc. are all great things that consoles are going to HAVE TO incorperate. online gaming just needs it. IMO they'll actually have to work with PC even more, so you can make a map on pc, and download it onto your console.

only thing xbox did wrong is not allow for keyboards and mice. a mistake i dont think they'll make with Xbox 2....... best solution: USB plugs on the console that can use pc things like keyboards and mice.

sorry for going off topic again. hehehe

back on topic. great thing for the game that they add and fix things for it :)

tons of games are released with bad cameras, but developers havn't had a way of (or at least since Xbox, they havn't felt like) fixing them...

Tons of people complained about Super Mario Sunshine's camera... If Nintendo was able to 'fix' it and did, people would see it as a good thing... Not bitch about how they "Rushed it out and intended to fix it later"...

Why does it seem that whenever any good news is posted on these forums about anything Xbox related, it gets immediately rebuked or trivialized?

Hmmmm... I wonder why....

Re: Ninja Gaiden Update

I'm going to try and simplify this the best way I know how.

The main point of my entire post was the fact that Microsoft has repeatedly stated that they did not want the Xbox to be viewed as a PC. Yet this update is being called version 1.1. It just seems that if they really want to hinder that PC view (which, I honestly don't know why they would try to do that), they would try and be a bit more tactful and request a different name for the update.

I'm not saying that it was a bad thing that they're releasing an update. In fact, I've repeated that fact in this thread, yet most of you seem to ignore that. If they're improving it, good for them.

I personally didn't like the game. I didn't like the camera/controls and that ruined the gameplay for me. That was just me. This wasn't meant to be a focus of the post. It's just my opinion of the game after I got it.

I didn't contradict myself at all Hero. I stated that I didn't think it was a bad thing that they were releasing an update. I don't. I don't think they did the game right the first time. That's my opinion. If they're going to fix it now, all power to them, but I still think they should have gotten me to like it the first time around. For you, it's an extra topping on an already delicious dessert. For me, it's like getting an extra load of steaming hot crap in the toilet before I flush. But whatever.

As others have stated, they're fixing the camera and in my opinion trying to improve upon Gameplay elements. Again, you're not going to agree on this because you loved the game. But either way it doesn't matter. Let's just agree to disagree and forget about it.

I didn't knock Microsoft at all, and that's what I find humorous about all of this. I just said I think it's funny that Microsoft doesn't want the PC image yet they reinforce it with a name like that. That's not knocking them. It's me finding humor - not hatred - from their stance. I didn't think the game was too hard. It simply didn't captivate me in any way. I didn't have a drive to play it. If you did, great. I had the same problem with Metroid Prime.

You're right. I had completely overlooked it while posting last night. Sorry.

I love how you try to make me look like I just defend Nintendo and that I stick with them through anything. I would implore you to read some of the posts I snached of mine. It took me like 2 minutes to search for these. I don't just support Nintendo blindly. I have been among the first to criticize Nintendo's marketing strategies.

Re: Ninja Gaiden Update

heres what I got from your first post "I laugh at microsoft for saying there not a PC but then putting a version number on there update."

every peice of sortware has a version number that doesnt make it a PC.
The gameshark has the version numbers does that make the playstaion 1 a PC no. Why would a version number make the xbox a PC.

I still dont see why you would "laugh" at the fact they call it ver 1.1. Thats what it is the first revision of the first model. All software has a ver # no matter what. PS2 has them and GC has them. It just so happens that you see them more on computer because computer games are more likley to be updated.

and on the Nintendo subject. If you dident like nintendo so much you wouldent pay such close attention to them. thus you wouldent have been the first to critizse. I have no problems with the fact that you like nintendo I have a problem with the fact you "laugh" at microsoft because they put a normal version number on an update. what esle would they have called the version Ninja Gaiden version "we added some crap play the game again"

What you said was either too complex or too simple for me.
That is a generalization.Tell me more.It is my fundamental purpose. What would make you stop do not see why you would laugh at the fact they call it ver 1point 1? Look harder.I've heard of it before. That is a rather sweeping generalization. Where did PS2 get them and GC has them? What does "it" refer to? What is
on the Nintendo subject

like on the Nintendo subject.I think I do.Interesting deduction. Thanks for the information:
said I wouldent have been the first to critizse.Would you like to have problems with the fact that you like nintendo he or she have a problem with the fact you laugh at microsoft because they put a normal version number on an update?Once more? Check back later and see if I learn the answer to that one.

Ok back on topic. Mario, comparing marketing stratagies and games is like comparing apples to oranges and -repping me and calling me a fanboy because I don't like nintendo is GAY (here let me put that in bold for you [ gay]) Your arguing over a version number which hero 2 put it everything has check and you'll find it. And to defend my status on being a fanboy. Ask hero2 ominub duffman jonbo, I don't even own a gaming system. I own games for everyone and play everyone but they are all hero2's. I'm more of a PC person myself... SO <^> to your rep.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Gameshark a completely unlicenced and unendorsed utility. Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo have virtually no jurisdiction over what they call their utility. However, they do have complete autonomy over what this update is called. Plus, this is a radical game upgrade.

I respect that you're happy for it. It's just an image issue that Microsoft is usually pretty adamant about keeping on the down low. Sorry, I found it funny; if you don't, don't laugh. But get off my case.

You're right, there are revision numbers. But this is way out in the open. Version 1.1 is what everybody calls this. I didn't call my Ocarina of Time that wasn't a Gold cart version 1.1 or 1.2 (even though it was) because virtually nobody else referred to it as such.

You're right. I do like Nintendo, I don't think I ever denied that. In fact, if you would have read that post I linked to (or at least paid attention to it) you would have noticed that I said right there:

As to what they could have called it, I don't know. Maybe Ninja Gaiden DC, or Gold, or Super Mega Ultra edition, or Ninja Gaidin - Now with 50% more poop.

I was finding it humorous because of all the work Microsoft went to so that the Xbox wasn't just perceived as a PC by the press and public. But now that they are where they are it doesn't matter anymore. Laugh or don't. But don't tell me that I'm wrong to do what I do.

I'm confused on who's being more fanboyish:eyes: :p

sorry, ill stop. Just wanted to say something.

But ill be honest. version numbers dont affect me. The name Microsoft will always be associated with PC's but eh, in about 30 years they will be the corporation that controls the government..Hollywood doesn't lie remember that ;) :D

Now excuse me as I go :smoking:

I might pick up a cheap used X-Box just to play Halo (1&2) and Fable.

On the other hand, I might wanna spend my time and money on World of Warcraft. :D
