Re: Food you DON'T eat!
They dont cook any old fertilized chicken egg,...they did it on fear factor one time, :P he said it was a delecacy in (asian country here) to eat unborn baby chicken, but the egg was naturally mutated in some way, so it could never be a real chicken....just like pinnochio.

Personally, I think that olives are one of those things that you have to acquire a taste for. I've been fed black olives my whole life so I like them. I haven't eaten as many 'european olives' but I'm beginning to really like them. They have a much stronger taste that requires some getting used to. But yes, I can definately see the distate that people have for olives. |

I've heard about it, and the name alone turned me off of it. Vegimite. Doesnt sound taste friendly to me.

Re: Food you DON'T eat!
Yeah, I know a couple of Australian girls that always rave about how good vegemite is. They gave some to me and it was OK. At first I thought that it was terrible, but then it didn't end up tasting all that bad, but it's not something I'd eat often... And yeah, they served it on toast I think, or bread..I suppose when you grow up with something like that you get used to the taste.

Vegemite is considered as much a part of Australia's heritage as kangaroos and the Holden cars. It is actually an Australian obsession that has become a unique and loved symbol of the Australian nation. A Vegemite sandwich to an Australian kid is the equivalent of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich to an American kid - but the taste is QUITE different! Vegemite is one of several yeast extract spreads sold in Australia. It is made from leftover brewers' yeast extract (a by-product of beer manufacture) and various vegetable and spice additives. It is very dark reddish-brown, almost black, in color, and one of the richest sources known of Vitamin B. It's thick like peanut butter, it's very salty, and it tastes like - well let's just say that it is an acquired taste! Australian children are brought up on Vegemite from the time they're babies. It is said that Australians are known to travel all over the world with at least one small jar of Vegemite in their luggage, for fear that they will not be able to find it. |
Re: Food you DON'T eat!
I don't like mayonnaise, seafood, and mushrooms.

Re: Food you DON'T eat!
Today I had gado-gado soup.
Basicly peanut-sauce (saté?) as a soup. It wasn't that bad when I ate it, but later it was really nasty... :green: |
