Bro. you gotta hold that button in for a few seconds, and the lights i believe should flash red.

just pressing it wont do anything.

I can't even get the button to press down. Whenever I try to push it, the pen goes off to the side. I would gladly hold it down for a few seconds, if I could.

I'm going to need a picture or artist's rendition.

I don't understand how you're unable to reset it.

This isn't the same router, but it has the same type of reset button.

As you can see, it's not the kind where it's a tiny hole that you stick a pen into. You can actually see the button, and it's bigger. It won't move when I try to push it. What will resetting it do anyway? Won't it just basically do the same thing as pulling out the power cord, and putting it back in?

My reset button is the same and I'm able to push it with a pen tip, and a paper clip would definatley work.

Could you tell me if the reset button does anything else besides reseting the power?

Well for example, sometimes my family's PC for some reason may not be receiving the signal from the router. The PC has a wireless USB receiver. So then, I use the reset button on the back of the router and that refreshes the signal and stuff, and the PC is able to start receiving again.

That's not the problem. The router just isn't working anymore. It has worked at my dad's friend's house, but not here anymore. When I we try to install the software, when it gets to the Router configuration, the installing stops. I don't understand what the problem is. Maybe comcast did something over here. Maybe they knew we were using a router. Comcast doesn't like it when people use routers apparently, because they want people to have more than one modem, so they can have two separate services in one house if someone has two computers. Maybe they did something so we couldn't use the router by not allowing the IP that you get when you configure the router. I feel kind if ignorant in saying that..because I don't know a lot on the subject, but it's just an idea.

i told you. the reset resets the memory. tis like you skip over everything i say.

If its working at your dads friends house. He might of config'd it differntly for his network. resetting it would put it back to default settings.

And id you ever try typing in the damn number?

Oh..I completely missed your post, because after I posted the picture and came back later, I saw that in the computers section it said that gamemaster posted, so I only saw his. Well..I wish I could push the button, but I can't. I'll just stop bothering you guys about this.
