Re: Where in the crap is CamFu?
I caught him on AIM like... probably only a month or so ago... I think his time in Iraq is almost up, and he said he's mostly been doing a bunch of paperwork and crap as of late, I think...

Re: Where in the crap is CamFu?
Sounds like fun.
He probably posted in the staff forum because most of the people he really talked to were on the staff when he left. As for his real name, it's Cameron Rail. No big secret. |

Re: Where in the crap is CamFu?
I've been trying to track down CamFu for a while. I know he should've been out of there when the Marines went back in February, but then just last week I saw some news that some Army guys were getting ****ed with an additional 6 months. Poor guy, but the pay is great. Being forced to stay more than 12 months now banks you like an additional 1800 per month, on top of regular E-5 base pay, money for housing and food, family seperation pay, hazardous duty pay, hazardous aid pay (aka money for being in a ****ty country), and all of this tax free. Now aside from the fact that you could die any second, you're in the middle of the desert for 18 months, and you never get to see your family or friends, it would almost be a good way to make money.
To put things in perspective on how long CamFu's been in Iraq, since he was deployed I've graduated high school, enjoyed 2 full months off for summer vacation, spent 3 months in boot camp, 4 months learning my job, I will have spent 5 months at my duty station, and then will be deployed to Iraq to relieve Marine units who got to Iraq 9 months after he did. After all that, he'll just be getting back. |
