the thing with what happens in the 7th book: no, Harry and Hermione don't get together, it hasn't been set up that way..it is obvious that it is Ron and Hermione that hook up, I have a feeling that Harry might end up with a muggle but that has no fact behind it (just would be an interesting twist)

don't know about the dementors, i think they would try to keep it original

And the final showdown between Harry and voldemort definately depends on whether or not Rowling plans on keeping the HP books going...because if she does Voldemort will have to be a part of them or they just wouldn;t be as exciting

I think what you said about her following with something not part of the HP universe is a brilliant idea. She is an awesome and very creative writer, and I would like to see what else she can pull out for us.

But I hold with my statement before....as much as I love HP, it should end where she originally planned it too.

I think Harry will eventually get with Cho, because book #5 talks about how Lily didn't like Harry's dad too much until he got older and more mature, and I think Harry will mature and realize he shouldn't be a dick to her.

Hermione and Ron better hook up.

And Dumbledore will die...

I guess I can't really relate to the whole 'Harry being a dick' thing. I always felt like he was ignorant of her feelings, but she was of his too. And I mean, most 15 year olds are. That doesn't make them dicks. But whatever :D

At any rate, I'm pretty comfortable saying they'll never get back together on account of this (from the same interview):

"eastbrook4: why did Harry have to split up with Cho Chang?

JK Rowling: That's life, I'm afraid. They were never going to be happy, it was better that it ended early!"

I don't. But I'm pretty sure he'll die before too long and Harry will be left with a lot of questions.

That is what made me think Dumbledore would become evil. Although this may mean something totally different, it is just what went through my mind when I read it.

Yeah, that's always bugged me as well.... Although I don't think Dumbledore would just turn evil; he would have had to be evil throughout the entire series... But it would just seem wrong if Dumbledore turn out to be a traitor... Although I guess that's the point...

I always figured Dumbledore knows that it'll backfire on Voldemort or something...

I love how these books have brought so many questions to myself. Right now, there are too many to think of, but I just love how there are so many cliffhangers. I just can't wait for the sixth book to come out, and I know that when I read it, I will love to see the answers to my questions.

Yeah, I dont think he will just all of a sudden become evil, I think he always has been and will be evil, what i meant was that people will just discover that he is evil.

i don't think that quote from the 4th book is quite what others are taking it as, but i could be wrong: when i read it I took it as this sign that Dumbledore has more and more trust in Harry because he is growing up...and there were other things i thought of too, just can't remember at the moment. (i do remember thinking that something strange was going on, but i just don't want Dumbledore to be evil...he's too great)

Re: Rowling: Could be Eighth 'Potter' Book

I truly doubt Dumbledore is evil. The triumph in his eyes has always led me to believe that there is something about Harry's blood that Dumbledore doesn't want Harry to know about. Something that could hurt Voldemort.

But that's just me. It's not an accepted theory most places you go (newclues.mugglenet.com, for me). But maybe that's just me.

I think that is a good theory, and I have considered it. The reason I think dumbledore might be evil is that JK is known for her super suprising endings.

But, Dumbledore being evil might be too predictable of a suprise.

Re: Rowling: Could be Eighth 'Potter' Book

If Rowling does put out an eighth book to the series, it better not add an eighth year to Hogwarts. It's not like it has to be marked "Book 8" on the spine either. I too, would like an "eighth book" to focus on some part of Harry's future AFTER he has left Hogwarts. Mind you, that's ONLY if an eighth book really does come out. I personally don't care for an eighth book and would just rather have Rowling stick to her word and just end it at book 7.

Now if there's an eighth book that will come out, there just better not be a book 9. Voldemort just needs to DIE at some point. Enough of this madness.

Re: Rowling: Could be Eighth 'Potter' Book

She already has the story up to the seventh year planned out. That's the point that Voldemort's life will end. That part of the saga is definately going to be finished by the seventh book.

The question is whether or not she'll add new adventures they encounter after they graduate.

DimHalo 03-14-2004 10:14 AM

Re: Rowling: Could be Eighth 'Potter' Book

i think it could be interesting to see what happens after they graduate (as i said before)... but maybe it should wait for a while, to see if there's still interest in it (in other words, it shouldn't be released right after the 7th)
