I'm sort of borderline with FunXbox. Not that active, but there are also good friends that stick around on the forums, and I'm not going to forsake the forums and my friends in a snap. Game Tavern seems a bit cozy...

But yes, the fanboys have run amuk the website and have in return been the cause of the worst case of debauching on forums I've seen. Not to say that this place hasn't been filtrated....

Actually Funxbox was a very good site (8 months ago), but I didn't stick around to meet you. I just check up on the forums, and noticed you. I actually didn't know you were the same Kumo from Funxbox until I read your sig. Ohh well...

Gametavern is cozy... but it also has the best and most intelligent forums that could find.

From what I know about you have a PS2. (yeah, I was reading you debates at funxbox)

This passion has swelled up over the months I have been away from the servers. I began playing in April, and this lasted through the summer until the beginning of September (I imported PSOv2, also had to pay a substantially less subscription fee than that of the Americans) when my Hunter's License expired.

I'd strongly recommend that you stray away from the PSOv2 Dreamcast version and hold out for the Gamecube one. For starters, the Dreamcast servers have been littered with hackers galore. There was no safeguard from these hackers (even password-locked rooms could be broken into with the use of a handy CodeBreaker) then, and there certainly isn't now. You will be wasting your money for the subscription fee as your character save will run into more than their fair share of hits from defects derived by hackers and their handy codebreaker. You can be simply frolicing in the lobby, want to take a break, sign off, turn off your dreamcast, come back, boot it up and have a corrupted character file.

Wait for the Gamecube version. I know [knew] a lot about the community of PSO, where to stay away from, where to hang out at, etc. You'll be wasting your time with the Dreamcast Version. The Gamecube version will more than likely be liberated from the Gameshark-Hacker infested servers that the Dreamcast users bore with.

And secondly, I'll be around for the Gamecube version. =D

PSOv2 for GCN is supposed to be without a monthly fee . Also GCN is getting 2 new classes of chracters that even the X-Box version will not get.

Also the DC version allows only 6 countries of Europe to play, and Greece is not on of them:(

I'll probably pre-order th GCN modem and PSO as soon as possible.

Anyway I wanted to become an IGN insider, but I'd rather keep my money pay the monthly fee for PSO (If it will need one).

Actually, the Gamecube rendition of PSO will be receiving an additional 3 new character classes and 2 new vast areas to traverse through (over the DC version). I expect more to be announced within the coming months, but everyone over at Sonic Team seems tight-lipped about a domestic release.

Hopefully when the SG cards that can hold 64 megabytes come out we'll be able upload new weapon, characters.

I'm also eagerly waiting for news about online in Europe. Sadly there is nothing till now.


EDIT: I was planning to get an IGN insider subscrition, but I'll save the money just in case PSO on GCN will have a monthly fee. Much more reasonable to spend my $$$ on online gaming then on some sunscribtion to a gaming site.
