Re: Dell's answer to the Ipod

the ipod has endless amount of addons and accessories for it. extra battery packs. adapters, I've seen Camera attatchments for it, all sorts of things.

the ipod itself has a better operating system on it. And believe me, Some of you dont know how huge of a deal it is that Apple will open it up for developers. Soon you are going to see ALL SORTS of programs and games you can download and run on the ipod.

from what i've seen the apple face controls are better too.
I garentee the apple will continue to be the most popular. and i think this one will go thro a few changes before it really takes off.

I hope it isnt plastic like the rest of the stuff dell puts together. (looks like it has a metal shell which would be good)

Lol, don't try and best me. I couldn't care less about batteries since I have 8 rechargable NiMH AAA batteries.

I agree, the iPod's controls are very nice. Just thought I'd add that in there, lol.

There are also USB sticks that have a MP3 player built in. Not quite as practical as real MP3 players, but still nice. :)

I'd just like to say that even though I can't get the new software and my capacity is only 5G, I'm ok, because I like the classic button layout design better. If my iPod is in my pocket, I know that menu is the top button, foward is the right button, backward is the left button, and play/pause is the bottom button. But in the new layout, all the buttons are aligned in one row above the scroll wheel and I might forget which one is which when I'm groping it in my pocket. I guess a poor memory is the only culprit to blame for this problem though. :(

Uhh. you had to memorize that in the first place. It wouldn't take very long to memorize it again.

Just like the first few hours with playstation.

Uhh, triangle........... ****.......... that's top.

and square is............................... uh.............. left

And! I just joined the ranks of the GT Ipod Owners (well, not quite, it still has to be sent to me) but I picked up a 30GB new, unopened, off of Ebay for 355$

Oh yeah? Well, I sent my iPod to a special company that installed a custom projection device into the top of my iPod so I don't even use old fashioned buttons anymore. All the buttons as well as the current song are all projected onto the nearest flat surface via a high intensity laser and all I have to do is say the song I want to listen to or say the commands, "Foward" "Back" "Pause" "Play" and the built in custom microphone does the rest. Buttons? Pshh, those are so 21st century.
