Re: New EGM Scores
Lack of improvment?
Playbooks: Improved Graphics: Improved Blitzing: Improved (actually possible) Passing game: Improved Physics: Improved Not to mention it's more realistic in general. |

Seeing as how the PS2 version actually has slowdown, has poorer graphics, and has longer load times, I really don't think it deserves the same score as the xbox and gcn versions. |
Re: New EGM Scores
lmao... Madden sucks? Yet it's still better than NFL 2k ;)
As for stonecutter's comments... why don't they improve things that really matter? I mean, people already like the gameplay, so how about adding some new features? (I mean, besides a stupid idea like first person mode) If those improvements meant so much, why didn't the game's score improve? But whatever... No need to fight anymore, I can do like gekko used to do and hide behind the scores ;) |

The three biggest complaints I heard about 2k3 were. Too hard to blitz Can't hide plays/bad playbook and by far the most heard complaint was Recievers drop too many passes All three have been fixed. And the interface is much better (so I hear) |

Ok, w/o bringing up the scores... those things should have been fixed years ago. There is nothing cool about a new feature that everybody saw coming 3 years ago.. and gave up hope last year on. Where is the selling point in these features? Madden, on the other hand, has EA Sports Bio now (unlock teams cheats and extras by playing other EA games), and added to thier already fantastic franchise mode owners mode. Not to menton there is now online tourneys... I can see the selling point there crystal clear. It gives a Madden 2003 fan more than enough reasons to get 2004. Not only that, it gives fans of NCAA football, NBA Live, and NHL 200x a reason to buy Madden over NFL 2k. Also, there are nice gameplay changes, like how the camera moves when you do a fake handoff to keep the defence on thier toes. But that gets over shadowed by the off-the field features. "And the interface is much better (so I hear)" How could it get any worse? Compared to Madden the overall presentation of the game sucks. It lives up to it's "ESPN" licence's history. ;) I could go on and on and on why I think NFL 2k is worse... but I never really had scores to back me up. Oh well, this time I do, and I have a feeling that I will continue having them backing Madden up. Sega makes improvements every year, but not near on the scale of EA's improvements. Hell, at this point if I was the CEO at Visual Concepts, I'd start stealing EA's ideas. |
