good point, even though it's technically impossible. ;)

but if the idea is so huge that will take a good development cycle, I doubt anybody will be able to pick it off that fast... at least not in a quality title anyway.

OKOK, so the werent the absolute FIRST to put out a cel shaded game, but they were the first ones to do it and succeed.

depends on what you mean by "succeed"... does that mean it was the only good one? If so you are wrong again, like always. :slap:

Just kidding... I'm guessing you mean in sales. ;)

I actually was indeed looking at succes in sales, because, i figured that people would probably notice it more since it was more popular, plus the zelda name helps.

Jokes or not, I don't get why most Americans have something against Canada. Hell, we're one of the very few countries that doesn't hate the United States.

BUTTTT anywho. americans dont have anything against canadians. jokes may be made. as all people make jokes. doesnt reflect hate..... They may have bitter feelings cuz of the war stuff. But *shrug* that sort of thing passes with time.

Actually, I believe that was Sega.

Listen.

The point is, while nintendo is holding their cards so close to thier chest, Sony and Microsoft are lauging their collective asses off because they believe they have the better hand ANYWAY. Sony and MS don't want to be nintendo. They will occasionaly lift an idea or two to attempt to cut into the demograpic but it doesn't really matter to them. The only thing nintendo is doing by not showing the game is hurting themselves. Their games get no pub and then when they finally get some push some executive at an advertising company looks at nintendos targeted demographic and you get "clean is better than dirty."

Make no mistake about it. Two things had to happen for that add to run.

1) Someone was hired by nintendo to make the ad, which means they looked at what nintendo said they wanted and that thing aired.

2) Nintendo saw the finished product and approved it. Nintendo wants the 6-11 year old demographic and sony and MS couldn't give two ****s. Even if they somehow take nintendos ideas they're going to put them in a game with blood and guns and probably outsell nintendo.

Big N needs to pull their head out of their ass.

The best way for nintendo to realize that chance is necessary is for them to strongly taste failure. That is why relish all of nintendos failures.

And if the drug perscribed to fix the ailment should happen to kill the beast, so be it. It will be resureced in a close to complete form with one of it's competetors and I will follow.

I think Super Mario World 2 (the one with baby mario) on the SNES (and more recently, GBA) was cel-shaded. But it was not a 3D cel-shade. So I dont know if Sega was the first successful company with cel-shading or Nintendo. Even though SMW2 I dont think back then was called a cel-shaded game, by todays standard you could call it that. or "Toon Shading".

I recieved the new EGM magazine today(thank you to whoever posted that topic a long time ago about how to get a free subscribtion to EGM)

In the rumor section, they stated that Nintendo is in talks with developers, and that the sucsessor to the Cube is rumored to launch possibly in FALL 2004. I of course laughed that one off, knowing Nintendo. But it got me thinking, do you think Miyamato might be holding off Mario 128 as a launch title for the next console?

I second that! March 2004 is the cutoff date, but by then, I will most likely renew, (unless EGM does something that really pisses me off)
