It's a waste of money considering most people don't play their Gamecube's on big screen TVs in large convention halls. I seriously don't believe these are going to sell.

I think you guys are taking this like it will be a whole new wavebird, that costs a different amount and everything...I doubt this. Im thinking they will simply start putting this upgraded chip in their new shipments. There will be no way to tell the old from the new, except it will probably say ''now with an upgraded distance of up to *blank* feet!'' Or something of that sort...I suspect anyways.

Well, I've played with a Wavebird from damn near its limits (It's me!). I can tell you it's impossible to see anything. However, if we would've forked over the hundreds on dollars to play on a 6' screen, that would've kicked ass.
Anyways, the reason behind this is probably to provide more channels and different frequencies, so your signals don't get mixed as easily. |
More importantly, Mitsubishi has taken an interest in Nintendo, or vice-versa. Thats good for any future 'projects'.
