Was Genesis online with that XBAND thing-a-majigger? I remember reading that in Nintendo Power.

Genesis had that online weird thing, but I think it flopped.

Ya. Some cartridge thing where you connected your cable line to it, and paid a monthly fee. Don't remember the specifics, but I remember you could download games.
Not positive that you could play online. But connecting to a service via cable sounds a lot like cable internet, so I'm gonna say yes :) |
So you're saying PSO comes out October 31st...I didn't even know that Sega had a US release date for it yet.

They've had a date for a while. It was pushed back to 10/31.

Genesis had Sega Channel were you downloaded games to the system, but I'm not sure if you count that as online or not. Sega Saturn online was too. Duke Nukem, Daytona, and Virtua ON supported it.
I read in OXM that Sega was packaging PSO with the LIVE package in Japan. |
