Before you go DSL like I almost did (and my Auntr in the IT buisenes regreeted doing) make sure the Cable Modems in you area aren't better. If you're farther form the DSL Junction at the phone comapnies oaffice (3 miles is the standrad) your conection degrades to crap, if you can get cable it's slightly faster but depending on how many people are in the "pipe" of Cable users you migiht get a slow connection at Primetime and during Monday Night Football. My advice is to check your options, if you're closer to the phone office, DSL, if you're about 2 1/2 miles away, forget it and try cable, also, make sure your DSL providedr is a decent one, erizon sucks, so be careful with who you choose, also try and keep your old ISP for at least one month to allow a "Chnage of address" notice for people who don't know you're switiching, and make sure you have a firewal for a High-speed conection. ZoneAlarm is just fine, but ZA pro is beter. As for complete Fiber-optic lines, if you wanrt one, you'd better be a millionaire.
