Amazingly awesome game.
Think ill play through it again. :p

I only finished the single player game. I have to get back to studying now. I'll go fast through it a second time to get all of the achievements I couldn't get on he first run. The Story was awesome and the puzzles were clever and challenging. I loved the character development and all the back story of Aperture Science's past. I don't want to spoil it... I'll just say everyone owes it to themselves to play this game. I'll get to the multiplayer after I'm done with all of the college stuff.

Well I finally got this game, and I want to play it on my new PC, but cant because it requires you to link your PSN account to the game first, and PSN is down. So that kinda sucks.

Im thinking of just playing the single player on PS3 since thats all I can really do at the moment. Anyone played on PS3? How is it?

I had the oportunity to play the game on PC and PS3 but went PS3 because 720p on 46 inches of screen look more awesome than 1080 on 21 inches of screen. Also, I don't know if you get your trophies in PSN if you get the achievements on steam, I could be wrong though. Anyways the single player of the game is so awesome you'll want to play through it more than once, that should keep you busy till PSN comes up again.

QFT. Same thing here -- I bought it after you mentioned the Amazon deal.

Blix has a good point about the large screen size, buuuut... I just can't stand FPS controls on consoles. Although this game doesn't have the twitch gameplay of regular FPSes, it does require precise placement of portals...

Playing it right now and it's so good, I'm trying to go slow so it won't end quickly :D I love the voice acting, probably even more than the superb graphics (especially the lighting effects and shaders) and the gameplay we all know and love.

Really liked the part where Glados says (really minor spoiler), "You're test results came back. It says that you are a horrible person. Really. That's what it says. A horrible person." (/spoiler)

Oh, and one more thing. Join my Facebook group I always turn around when I get on the elevator in Portal :D

Bought it so me and my brother could play co-op. :)

I don't really like the humour but I liked the gameplay in the first enough to get the second.

Dyne, you might want to check your soul... it might be dying. Maybe you think the humor was forced into the first game since it didn't explain many things and simply presented them as they were. But once you're done with this, you should understand everything and see how everything falls into place and complements things. That's the only reason I can think you didn't like the mood of the first one. But this one ties all of these loose ends. You'll find out why Glados acts the way she does, her origins and why everything ended up how it is. And then you'll see nothing is forced into the game or takes away from it. Portal 2 does a great job of explaining and giving you all the clues as to why things are how they are and the way they present all the back-story is interesting and well thought out.

The Humor in Portal is very funny and even though it can seem absurd it is well justified in the story and elements they chose for it. The AI on Glados and every other robot/computer/whatever is advanced but still flawed in some ways. Its creator (Cave Johnson) was a genius but also a bit nuts which shows how things came to be. Other things are explained in this game and many more things will make sense to you but I don't want to spoil it for you.

In the end humor is a matter of taste.

And Dyne has none. :p

For those who haven't bought it yet, Amazon has it as their deal of the day, 30 on PC, and 35 on PS3 and 360

Daaaah I should have waited. Does Amazon have a policy on back-dating price drops within a certain time period if I purchased the game, say, a week ago?

EDIT:

Quote:

Post-Order Price Match Policy

With the exception of TVs, we do not offer post-order price matching when an item's price drops after you buy it. Our prices regularly change, and the price you paid when your order shipped was the lowest price we were able to offer at the time. We consistently offer competitive prices on everything we carry because we know low prices are very important to our customers.

Yahtzee is funny once again. I had not laughed (or rarely did) at a Yahtzee review for more than a year. Maybe more than two. Anyways, he does a good review, still finds it to be a good game but the second one doesn't come off without some criticism like the first one did.
Here it is:

Re: Portal 2

Heads up for anyone playing the game on Steam and PS3... Achievements unlocked in steam won't be registered on the PSN as trophies but trophies gained in the PSN will be registered on steam as achievements. So get them on the PS3 if you care about having them on both sides. I almost have them all but that stupid over-clocker achievement is not working on PS3 for some reason. I'm pretty sure I should have it already. The aiming (as manasecret pointed out) is a bit of a problem. But I'm sure I should still have gotten that damn trophy. Anyways... anyone interested in coop?
