More new videos shows off some new aspects, and also get to hear some new music.

There is a remix of the SMW song (Ghost house and overworld) and Bowser's theme from SM 64.

Is that that lame feature where the game will basically play itself for awhile so lame people can get through difficult parts?

If so, I hate this feature.

I have no problems with the superguide in NSMBW. Never used it once. And if other people get more fun from their game, good for them.

Yeah, its actually a really sweet idea, and I hope more games start using it.

So glorious, only 3 weeks to go. :D

First reviews are coming in, I expect this is average slightly lower than original Galaxy,

That desire to experiment is this astonishing game’s most dangerous achievement. As the adventures soars onwards, its various spaces become increasingly warped, and the final levels switch the emphasis from perfecting the 3D platformer to deconstructing it. Mario is rubbing up against the limits of the form as much as the edge of the universe here, and you’ll see worlds where ledges hang sparse in the air, and where ghosts plucked from the entire sweep of videogame history emerge in half-familiar clumpings of cubes or a nimble arrangement of switches.

Marvel at the pieces, but appreciate the whole. This isn’t a game that redefines the genre: this is one that rolls it up and locks it away. We’ve come so far, from stepping on mushrooms to drop-kicking meteors into the heart of the sun; Galaxy 2 offers a new understanding of where we’ve been, a new sense of wonder at where we’ll go next.

Wait, did that article say there are only 60 stars?

soccerant 05-10-2010 10:32 AM

Re: Super Mario Galaxy 2

Craig Harris from IGN is past his 90th star, so I'm inclined to believe there will be the standard 120.

Ok good. :) I couldn't imagine it only had 60 stars, but Nintendo have made some absurd decisions in the past...

The 60 is probably the number you need to beat the game like the 70 in 64/Sunshine and the 60 in the original Galaxy.

If I'm not mistaken, there are once again 240 stars in the game.

That they have. But BreakABone is right in the sense that 60 is probably around the amount needed to complete the story.

And BreakABone, are you counting a second playthrough with Luigi for the 240 total?
