Re: Fallout 3
Oblivion also started slow if you remember. In jail, walking through the old sewer fighting rats. Not too much excitement there either. But the whole 1950s era post apocalyptic thing is going to be cool.

Re: Fallout 3
Hey how do I link my Xbox gammer tag?

Re: Fallout 3
Put your tag in [x][/x] brackets. x="Gamercard".

Re: Fallout 3
Yeah, my friend gave me a puppet too. Apparently there were a ton of them.
My friend at EA said that Oblivion was boring in 15 minutes and magical and 5 hours. I don't know if I want to invest that kind of time but I guess it floats some people's boats. |
Re: Fallout 3
I have canceled my Fallout 3: Amazon.com Exclusive Survival Edition. I almost payed 50 extra bucks for an alarm clock! And the Fallout 3 Collectors Edition comes with a bobble head and a lunch box for 20 extra bucks, not bad, but who needs that crap. So now Im down to the normal game. Im at that point that Im not going to pay any extra unless I get in game content.

Re: Fallout 3
I can't wait for this game! I have pre-ordered the CE at EB Games. I haven't heard of the survival edition, otherwise i would have gotten hat.
I have played, and replayed Fallout 1&2 at least half a dozen times each, and i love them. Best RPGs ever made IMO. I don't think there are any RPGs with as many elements as fallout 2. Drugs, prostitution, gambling, slaving, mob families, so many options, so little time. I have a feeling still that Bethesda has screwed up the series with Fallout 3, but i won't know until i play. I mean, sure they might have kept the vast expanse of the map, the VATS targeting system, and the perks system, but they have changed everything else. They've changed the games from a top-down view to first person; they have made combat in real time; I'm pretty sure they took out everything i mentioned above; i REALLY hope they haven't taken out the humor. |
Re: Fallout 3
You can change the view from first person to third person at any time and you can fight in real time or use VATS for more of a turn based kind of thing, I think. And of course theres going to be humor, a guy wants you to blow up a town with an atomic bomb because its in the way of his view. :p
On another note, you can go here to watch a few vids about some fallout features. They are interactive at then end of the clip so dont forget to click around. |
Re: Fallout 3

Re: Fallout 3
I think that Bethesda can do some really good work with this game, but we'll see how they take a true FPS approach.
An FPS/RPG...rare genre in my opinion, but the few I've seen are fantastic. (System Shock 2, Deus Ex, etc.) I don't think the game with work too well in third-person. I never liked playing Elder Scrolls in third-person. Threw my aim off, etc. |
Re: Fallout 3
Yeah, Morrowind in 3rd person somehow was retarded. Also because the animation of your character was terrible.
|
Re: Fallout 3
Its official, Fallout 3 has gone gold. Which begs the question, why the hell cant they release it now!
