Was that car in TFATF?

thats what i said!!!

look at the side sticker, look at that meter infront of the windsheild, it has like this little camera thingy, TFATF had that exact car, and the design and layout.

I'd like to see you try to get a Hummer for $75,000 brand new now. Try at least $85,000. If you want some options, go with over $100,000.

I'll go with my Jeep. Much cheaper. Both are based on the same heritage. And, my Jeep with the right upgrades is going to be more capable off road than the Hummer and come in at at least $70,000 cheaper. :D

EDIT: Oops, I got the two p names of PureEvil and Perfect Stu mixed up. Sorry. Point still stands though.

Actually, it was only used in a couple scenes of the movie. They made a replica, but only the exterior was the same. The engine they are working on in the movie is not the engine in the car. The car also features screens in the dash, which I believe they left out. They also took out the seats because filming would be horrible with them.

Of course, the movie paid for that car really. Before that it was yellow, and didn't look nearly the same. Still a great car back then. Also, the car has never been raced, it's purely a show car, and you can tell. Here's a site on the car if you guys care so much: http://www.suprastore.com/fasandfurhol.html

Doubt that. Even with mods the Jeep will never match the hummer. Hell, even raising that car 8" is dangerous, it'll tip too easily. If you want to see the Hummer's real power, go to their website and they have videos of it. In one of them the car is tipped up in the air, with the back wheels all the way in the air, driving on only the front tires. It's sweet. the Hummer is made specifically for off-road, the Jeep is made for driving to Wal-Mart and back, it doesn't match the Hummer. I can go into more detail, but if you look at Hummer's capabilities it should be clear. And I'm hungry, and want food.

You obviously don't read many off-road mags or know about the wonders of the aftermarket parts suppliers. By the way, Hummers suck at rock-climbing. Too heavy and too big to fit on tighter trails.

Problem is when you give the Jeep 16" on ground clearance, it becomes too top heavy and tips easily. Sorry, but if I'm rock climbing, I wouldn't want my car to tip. Also, the driveline is still low, and will easily hit. Unless you found some way to move it up, but the one you pictured doesn't. Sure you can raise up the car 8", but really, your clearance is only to a little less than the center of the wheels. Let's not forget the body of the Hummer can take much more abuse than the body of a Jeep.

Heritage may be the same, but things have changed. The Hummer remains a vehicle meant for off-road driving, and taking a lot of abuse. The Jeep is a vehicle for the road, and it's meant to be lightweight, not durable. Hell, watch the 5mph crash tests some times, the Jeep hits a pole at 5mph and you got hundreds worth of damage, the Hummer gets hit full speed by an oncoming sports car, and it's license plate gets bent. Sure it may cost more, but your Jeep isn't going to be more capable than the Hummer, ever.

gekko 04-23-2002 10:41 PM

Maybe the joy of driving, the speed, the looks. Maybe watching your money go out the window as you add parts, then remember they only bring down the resale value.

Heh, I guess it's no different than being excited about video games. I guess, if you like driving and like dreaming about cars you'll likely never own, you'll enjoy it. If you drive an automatic (aka don't experience the fun of driving) and you'd rather spend $300 on a Xbox instead of some Skunk2 Coil-overs, you probably won't see the fun in it.

And then there's the fact that some car shows have bikini and booty shaking contests :D

GameKinG 04-23-2002 11:11 PM

If you dont have a dream drive just tell us what kind of car you have...I guess thats something.

Cyrax9 04-23-2002 11:53 PM

OK, I can't find any pictures right now, but I have a three-way tie.

#1. A Yellow 2002 VW-Beetle with an automatic transmition. Really just for crusin' around the highway and to the Store, plus the Fact that I have an pobsession with the old beetle's as well, besides my dad's had VW's last longer than most cars, including a 17 Year old VW Jetta that my cousin now owns. I also like the VW Beetle's Saftey, and it's good for one or two people, not like an oversized Mini-Van.

#2. Dodge Viper Convertable RT/10 in Yellow, I love the Viper, and a yellow one would be the coolest car I could ride in. Small, slick, and fast, great fun, big Deathtrap though if you're hit.

#3. A Lamborgini Diablo in Yellow, Ok these things are just Frikin cool, I love the wa te door's open upwards, and the sound of an engin on one of them is amazing. The car looks like it could have come from the future, and I love things that go fast, of course I'd need some good airbags, and about 5 pounds taken off of my fot to make sure I don't rear-end someone.

Revival 04-24-2002 09:11 AM

Heh.. don't be like my brother and put $5,000 into a $300 dollar car.

bobcat 04-24-2002 10:04 AM

The bobcat in GTAIII looks pretty good...........don't you think?
