Excellent movie. I love Natalie Portman.. she is such a good actresses...

I learned that they only have one take and one take only to film her getting her hair cut. I bet part of her was really crying because she was losing her hair ... hehe...thats half the battle.

and the whole subliminal messages about totalitarianism or the criticisms of governments whether it be U.S. or not....I don't care about... It's based off a novel, and now it's a movie...

This movie will probably spark huge political discussions...

The movie is so good, that I sell tickets to teenagers under 17.

I guess that's my little way of sticking it to the man.

There were definately things about this movie that I enjoyed, but I think the editors did a piss poor job putting it together...they could have cut at least 30 minutes out of that movie that would have made it more enjoyable.

I also think it takes itself too seriously...I mean, these are pretty basic political concepts and I'm not really into politics. It just isnt an eye-opener...which is OK, but I think the directors, editors etc. played it out as if it was.

Some of it was entertaining, some of it was enjoyable, some of it was a little thought provoking but ultimately this is "just" another decent movie. If the movie looks interesting to you, I do suggest seeing it...waiting until it's a rental would probably be best.

i just saw it a few hours ago...very good, i liked it...although with the book(s) i'm reading now - Ender's Shadow saga - it kinda goes the same with the subject of the books, with a totalitarianist government and all that...so yeah, it was gooood.

Whatever the Matrix people touch, it turns to gold.

Yeah, except for 2/3 of the Matrix movies.

I like movies.

Saw V for Vendetta. Really like the script, the cinematography was fab. They needed to cut down some of the movie, it was a bit long. It was definitely cool though.

I also saw it last weekend, without even knowing what it was or who made it. I liked it very much. :D
Half-way through I finally recognized Hugo Weaving's voice. Nathalie was fine, though 1 or 2 lines came out wrong ("I'm starving!").

Too much blood. I hated the blood. It wasn't even 'cool' violence...... just some slashing with liters of blood bursting out.

I LOVED the last scene with all the people coming up. ^-^

Could not agree with you more.

As for V, it was good, but in the end it never came close to capturing its potential. This film could have been epic, but thanks to shotty editing and the fact that it blanched at its own content, a lot of the power was removed.

Epic? Naah....

I didn't mean epic in the visual sense like LOTR or Troy, but more in the emotional/cognitive sense.

I was thinking more along the lines of 2001 in effect.

Re: V for Vendetta

Then I still think "naah". The Matrix is epic, Donnie Darko is epic, Jurassic Park is epic. I hope that's what you also mean.

I think a movie like V for Vendetta is too much..... caught in between a simple action movie and a good story.... or something like that.

Maybe when they totally changed the action.... and maybe some less focus on Portman.... hm I don't know. :)
