I saw this movie last weekend and had some of the same problems. It was good but not as good as the original one. Gene Wilder will always be my Wonka.

i watched the original... and it is so damn funny, very very funny much better than the new one.

Well.. in the book.. Wonka never gets pissed at Charlie and denies him the factory.

I think there were several changes from the book, which is why I heard the author didn't like the movie and denied them making a sequel.
