I prefer Winamp over iTunes. It takes up less memory, and it's usually open when my computer is on. Hell, I've almost considering giving Winamp the permission to load on start-up, but I don't want to clutter my memory.

iTunes is....well, for me, it's in the same boat as Windows Media Player and Real Player. Quicktime is poopy too.

Quicktime isn't poopy because it's the best for watching streaming game trailers and movie trailers.... gametrailers.com.... Quicktime is the best choice for me... the WMP trailers dont load for me....

I use Quicktime when I go to gametrailers as well. :)

Also, it's the only format that photoshop recognizes, so if I want to put a video in my work, I have to have it in quicktime format.

I use Quicktime Broadcaster to have live, streaming web conferences with friends. And I use the Quicktime format when exporting iMovie and After Effects movies so that I can show them to my friends.

Me likes QT as well!

iTunes loads on start-up here. :D

I simply love it... I've tried Winamp (I think:(), but searching through songs was terrible. With iTunes it's so easy. :)

bad idea to make anything load on startup unless its needed. but to each thier own :p

and as for seaching thro songs. its pretty much the same on both. you just have to press the 'media library' button on winamp and its setup to list all songs, and has a seperate window where you can click on just an artist and filter out his only. or album and such. so for that they're almost identical.

Almost is a strong word for Winamp and iTunes comparison.

The Library in iTunes can be sorted in any way you please, or you can drag all of an artist inside a Playlist and click on the playlist and start listening. I like that rather than filtering everytime I want to see just one artist.

Winamp is good because it loads faster...

But I like the ease-of-use with iTunes, and you can go to iTunes Music Store integrated to buy some of the latest songs (.99 LEGALLY) and have it ready and organized inside the iTunes music folder which is organized into Artists, Albums already.

I believe iTunes to be more organized.

you can do the drag an artist into a playlist in winamp. thats what i was revering to. your filtering out that artist to show only his stuff. they work the same in that reguard not only that, but they look the same too pretty much, the media library in winamp and the library in itunes. altho depending on the skin winamp is easier on the eyes.

and as i said long ago. i like the itunes music store. but beyond that. winamp does pretty much everything else better and quicker.

Re: *shoots winamp*

so first they are almost identical and now winamp is better and quicker beyond the music store?

I dun wanna argue about this.... I prefer iTunes...

EDIT: I failed to mention iTunes burns CD's as well using an integrated CD burner finder feature thingy.

your taking words way too directly. almost identicle as in they do all the same things. maybe a couple of slight differences. like as i said already, in itunes i want to add a group of songs to a playlist. like 5 in a row that arent from the same artist or anything, i click on the first, hold shift and click the last one. then drag them all over. In Winamp, i draw a box with the mouse around all 5.
They do the same exact thing, one is quicker. This is what i mean by almost.
and i said winamp does most everything else better and quicker way way back, that statment has never changed.

and yes, of course itunes burns CD's, (cough, so can winamp) (and i still wish it could rip vbr mp3's like winamp and other programs do, that one always erks me)

But what the hell is a cd burner finder feature thingy? lol. altho i like the name of that. :p :D

Re: *shoots winamp*

simply put... it's a thingy that finds a cd burner? Well I haven't used Winamp in such a long time to actually know it burns CD's too.... lol the last time I used it was 2002.

So pardon my ignorance on this topic..... this might prove why I'm so iTunes preferencial.
