Re: DAMN YOU CAPCOM!
I always thought it was pretty amazing that Nintendo managed to get this baby exclusive. I guess it really was too good to be true. This will hurt sales, no doubt, because this game probably wouldve been a system seller...it wont be now that people know they will be able to get it on their PS2 as well.
But you damn well know the PS2 version wont look near as good. No way in the world PS2 can render those kinds of graphics. |
Re: DAMN YOU CAPCOM!
Well there's no doubt the GCN version will be superior in graphics. However it's almost definite the PS2 version will receive extra crap like Viewtiful Joe for PS2. Ultimately this is a pretty shaddy move by Capcom, but from a business standpoint they'd really be stupid not to do it. Oh well.

Re: DAMN YOU CAPCOM!
This decision by Capcom doesn't really affect or bother me. The one that does is that they delayed DMC3 to Febuary. FEBUARY!!! :(

But more realistically, 30 fps. |
Re: DAMN YOU CAPCOM!
Is it just me who noticed the little dent in the upper-right of the Capcom logo, or the fact that they actually spelt "PlayStation" as "PlayStaion"?
And how can they say "million-seller latest title" when the game isn't even out yet? I'm not really sure about it's authenticity, even though it's on the official site... |

they also wrote Resident Evil4 in one spot. (" Evil 4) everwhere else. |

Re: DAMN YOU CAPCOM!
The trouble with a computer game company telling the public that they have exclusive rights to certain games is that you are never told how long for. A game will be advertised as an exclusive title but the fact of the matter is that the tearms of the contract often reveal that the exclusivity is only available for a certain time. Once this time expires the company is then free to do what they will with their game and releasing it on other consoles means a shed load more money. Everything comes down to how much cash one developer is prepared to throw at another in the business and corporate world that runs it all.
Titles being "exclusive" to certain consoles and then coming out on rival consoles months later has been going on for years. A few examples of this. Nintendo were meant to have the licence and exclusivity rights to Star Wars a couple of years back, now you get Star Wars games on all consoles. Sony had exclusive rights to the GTA franchise but months later, bam they are released on the X-Box. San Andreas will move to Microsoft before long. Always remember that when you are told 'This is an exclusive title' you should reply with, 'That's nice... how long for' The only true exclusive titles for any console are first party developed games. Think about all those people that dont have a Gamecube aswell, for them it will be great news, now they dont have to buy a whole new console just to play a game they like. If it's a great game it deserves to be shared does it not? I see where you are coming from though, Nintendo have be making a lot of grave mistakes in the past few years. Loosing Rareware  for example... need I say more. Dont worry though dudes. Nintendo will have something up theis sleeves to shut all their nay sayers up for a while, they always do. |
Re: DAMN YOU CAPCOM!
Actually, Nintendo doesn't have the Star Wars license only a few years back. Factor 5 made the Rogue Squadron games exclusive to the N64/GC only...although I dont know if the rumors are true that Factor 5 was gonna bring all 3 to the XB.

Re: DAMN YOU CAPCOM!
Yeah now that we look back on it, dumping Rareware was a great move. :D
Nintendo probably recognised the teams problems or something and decided to 'sell' them. And Nintendo never had the exclusive rights for Star Wars games, but like Jonbo said. :p |
Re: DAMN YOU CAPCOM!
What they realized was that Star Fox Adventures was a piece of crap that took over 5 years to make.
|
Re: DAMN YOU CAPCOM!
Rare was junk, because they got every gamers hopes up, and then took long enough for everyone to either lose interest, or be overexcited for a mediocre game. The only game I liked was Goldeneye
