Such a great movie.

Saw Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist.

It satisfied my man-crush on Michael Cera but not much more. It was okay. It was too much of a hand job to the hipster NYC music scene though. It made me feel sooo uncool and not with it...

My Life Without Me. 9/10

Wow, why have I missed out on this for so long? The movie is so sad... but so good.

I saw W. last week. It was entertaining. The girl playing Condoleezza Rice was awful though. Worst impersonation ever.

i watched The Happening last night, and it was pretty much a let down.

the concept of the movie was pretty cool, but it seemed so unrealistic and the acting was really bad. there was one or two kind of "jumpy" parts, but it wasn't scary at all to say the least.

I watched Clockwork Orange on Halloween - what a flipping trippy movie. Kubrick is a maniac and a pervert. But mostly a pervert.

It's based on the book written by Anthony Burgess, so Kubrick isn't totally responsible for the pervertedness.

However...if you see Dr. Strangelove, oh man....

so yeah, Kubrick is a pervert. But he's one bad ass mother fuckin' pervert. He's one of my favorite directors.

Other Kubrick lines: Hey baby, you got girlfriend Vietnam? Me so horny. Me love you long time.

The plot was a tad predictable but it I liked

Futurama: Bender's Game

If they cut out the lotr/d&d portion it would have been a good movie.

Re: Last movies you saw

Hmm...went to the movies and saw Zach and Miri Make a Porno.

It was like every other Kevin Smith film I guess, only with Seth Rogen.

I think it's cool how Kevin Smith is trying to push the limits of what can be shown in a movie (he's anti-MPAA), and I think it is cool how films are starting to do away with the double-standard for nudity.

The double-standard is, of course, boobies/vagina = okay, penis = omg!

I don't even want to get started on censorship and sexuality in America, so I won't.

Zach and Miri was an A-V-E-R-A-G-E movie that made me laugh a lot (in theaters) but will probably wear thin like Clerks 2 did. If you want the definitive Kevin Smith experience go get:
Clerks
Chasing Amy
Dogma
(and from there go get Mallrats and Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back).

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to Role Models which looks much better.

Lady in the Water. 7.5/10. Maybe an 8/10, don't know. I have to see it again. Hm, apparently it's a movie I want to see again, that's good.

Some what watched a terrible Canadian low budget teen comedy called PIGS.

Dear god it was bad. It didn't know what it was doing. There was one part where the main character(I think) had realized he had been a dick and for the movie to show that he was a nice guy now it had him reading to old people

Don't leave us in the dark, what did you think of Iron Man and the Hulk.
Interested in Iron man especially since tried to get you to see over the summer.

Quantum of Solace. Not as great as Casino Royale, but loads better than most other Bond movies. The characters returning from Royale keep their previously deep characterizations, they're just not as fulled explored as possible. The new characters are a little thin, but they serve their purpose well. It wasn't "The Dark Knight" in terms of "reboot sequel awesomage," but again, its still one of the better Bonds.

I actually liked Zach and Miri a lot, almost as much as I liked Knocked up. I also enjoyed all the Pittsburgh refrences...

well, i thought the new hulk was pretty cool, i mean it's the hulk, what wasn't made in this movie, that was made in the one a few years ago?

and Iron Man was pretty good. i loved the way it showed him messing around with the suit; plus, iron man has always been one of my favorites.

Then why did I have to pull teeth to get you to see.. and you still didn't see until 6 months later!

personally, i didn't think the movie would be all that good, and it wasn't that great, but it was still a cool flick.

a friend of mine wanted to see it, and he wanted me to watch it with him.

Saw a sneak of Slumdog Millionaire a couple nights ago

HIGHLY recommend that anyone who is a fan of Danny Boyle (Director of Trainspotting, Sunshine, 28 Days Later, the Beach) or of movies filmed in a style similar to City of God (chronicles different periods of the casts life) check this film out.

Moments of laughter, action, romance, and incredibly suspenseful throughout.

I saw the Flaming Lips long awaited Christmas on Mars "film." Some of the silent black + white shots were pretty cool, but once someone opened their mouth the acting was so horrible that it ruined a lot. Still worth seeing after all these years though.

The Village. 8/10.
Good movie. Scary too, even though somebody already spoiled the ending. But the setting of the movie was a much bigger eye opener. Halfway through it felt more like a 7 movie, but the last half turned it into an 8 movie. :)

Ben X 9/10 highly recommended.

It's a Belgian (so get subtitles) movie about an autistic boy who gets picked on in real life, and tries to escape in a MMORPG. It uses a lot of in game graphics, which is cool.
It really is a sad story, but very pretty. Watch it.

Genius Party

Seven short animated films. I could only find five of them and Netflix doesn't have the DVD. But really good stuff.

Here's the opening short:

Good Will Hunting. 8.5/10.

Australia.

Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman's latest movie. It was a wild and adventurous film.

Re: Last movies you saw

Oh I forgot one:
The Mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. 5/10.
It barely kept me entertained. It was bad. It was even worse because they replaced the gorgeous Rachel Weisz with some annoying woman. Who was supposed to play the same character...

GM, what were your thoughts on it? You're supposed tell that! :) Or play Brawl with me, right now.

Edit: This one's just in: Ferris Bueller's Day Off. 8/10. Great movie. Also great 80's feeling (even though I was just 3 when that movie was released).

Days when you're a bit ill are great for watching movies and playing games.

And another movie (it seems I'm on a roll):

Hidalgo 8/10.
Much better than expected. I discovered how much I still love horses. I miss my pony, Charon. She died last year. :(

Re: Last movies you saw

Come on! It's Kung Fu, and it's a panda!! That HAS to be good, right? Right??

Latest movie I saw:

Pokémon 4Ever: Celebi - Voice of the Forest. 7/10.
It was cool to be in the Pokémon universe again... I kind of miss the atmosphere. But there's no way I'm going to watch all the Pokémon episodes.. Wikipedia says there are 581 of those... And it's the same formula every time: new pokémon or some kind of problem, Team Rocket try to mess it up, get defeated, happy end, next.

I liked Kung Fu Panda...

Saw Rocket Science the other day. One of those anemic family dramedies where nothing really happens but the the characters are just quirky enough to have some entertainment value.

...and it had West from Heroes.
