OK!

So I just got back from the video game tournament. There were 3 video game tournaments I entered.

The first one to be played was none other than:

...

...

STREET FIGHTER II

!!!

Lol, for nostalgic purposes I entered. Out of like 10 people I placed 3rd. It was funny. The entire game was basically distance whore them with a hadoken, then when they jumped in, uppercut. It worked. Chun Li was sooooo awful in SFII.

The next tournament was the Soul Caliber II tournament.

Ok so all night we went through these tournaments not knowing what our prizes would be for winning. So I entered the beginner division of this tournament, and this is the only tournament that had divisions and you just placed yourself in one catergory. Luckily everyone was really good about entering at their skill level.

So I just started to play Soul Caliber II really hardcore on Monday night. Maybe Tuesday. So I took the time to learn all of Taki's moves and some combos to do with her, and I sorta figured others would have done the same thing. Unfortunantly that wasn't the case. Everyone in the beginner division sucked really hardcore... It was like they constantly mashed out A or B... So I had two choices, guard and then smash them on the lag, or if they used a horizontal attack I could use a vertical attack. So I played everything really safe and ended up placing first in the beginner division. I felt kinda bad but at the same time all was good. Oh well?

Then the next tournament was the Super Smash Brothers tournament. Now here's the bittersweet part right?

They didn't even have it...

It was almost 11 PM and they called it off because it was getting too late.

On the bright side, I played everyone there that entered, and beat them all horribly...

My prize for the SCII tournament? 2 Anime DVDs of my choice, and I got the first 2 DVDs from the new Tenchi Muyo series. Second place people got 1 DVD. 3rd place got nothing (Which is where I put this one little boy... He was the only one that actually mixed up his attacks and I really got to bust Taki style out on him... I felt so bad...)

So I have 2 Anime DVDs and between me and my friends we got five! SWEET! My friend Kyle got 1st place in advanced/Intermediate SCII tournament and Clifton got 2nd. That's it. I wish the Smash Brothers had happened because I would have won first and this girl with us would have gotten 2nd. 3 more DVDs slip through our fingers...

All is good though because Ohayocon is in like 3 months, and I'll be Smashing it up there, AND GUILTY GEAR!

YEAH!

I'm off to fall asleep watching Tenchi.

Sweet man! It's awesome to hear that you did so well...sorry that they didnt have the smash bros tourney, cause it sounds like you would have owned big time. However, I did wail on you at Josh's...so I could have gotten some DVD's....;)

Where is Ohayocon?

If you ever hear about any video game tournaments close by again (I consider Lexington close), let me know, even if you arent going, which hopefully you would so that I would have someone to hang out with.

I might do a little research and see if there are any more coming up in Lexington. You know how competitive I am, and I am just dying for some competition.

Ohayocon is in Columbus Ohio. It's january 17-19 I think... It's close to those two dates.

You can look it up online. :)
