I don't have any of the extended editions... Because I know once they release the return of the king, they'll have some sort of special trilogy pack of them and I'll just pick that up...

So I can't wait for it to come out :sneaky:

If you put all 3 extended editions together in a box, that's sort of like a set. Chances are they won't do much more than that...I mean, 20 hours of bonus material on EACH extended edition, how the hell can you increase that.

I like the part where Gandalf is riding on his horse in a large open field and then his staff lights up and scares away the dark flying creatures. And it has this cool opera-esque music. Speaking of opera, what's up with opera music always being used in awesome fight scenes? Shouldn't they play an electric guitar or something rough and hardcore instead? Like when Neo and Agent Smith have their final battle all you hear is opera and chanting.

It adds a more dramatic effect.

haha, if LotR's fight scene's involved rock music, it would piss off alot of people as it wouldn't fit into a fantasy like setting with how LotR is.

"Opera" music, as you call it, is more dramatic and powerful, as well as emotional, than someone jamming on an electric guitar.

Tell that to George Lucas. That guy couldn't choose good fight music if he was a paper bag.

Well I don't necesarily expect them to add more stuff... But chances are it will be a few bucks cheaper than buying them all seperate, and/or maybe come with a pretty little box...

Ok, let's do the math here. Original Return of hte King was 3 hours 21 minutes, the extended edition is adding 50 more minutes of footage, that adds up to an amazing 4 hours and 11 minutes. That is one long movie.

So lets say you're gonna have a LOTR marathon, all three Extended editions in a row. We have: Fellowship - 3 hours 28 minutes, Two Towers - 3 hours 43 minutes, and Return of the King - 4 hours 11 minutes. That's an incredible 11 hours and 22 minutes! Wow!
