Today is the beginning of early voting for Florida residents. Edwards is courting black voters with the message of making sure their votes are counted this year. Both sides are doing everything they can to increase voter turnout and get people to the polls early. Among likely voters Kerry leads in the battle ground states, but nationwide Bush leads 52-44.
Early voting in Texas also begins today, and during my lunch break I'm going to "rock the vote" or something. I've decided that I'm definitely voting for Bush. He is clearly the man with the intelligence and vision to lead us in the war on terror. He brought together a willing coalition of all our major allies who are sharing the military burden equally with us. He listened to our generals and put the required number of troops on the ground. He captured Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan before turning attention to Iraq. And who can forget the degree to which he clamped down on corporate corruption and industry pollution? In addition he insured the assault weapons ban would be renewed, decreasing the chances that our law enforcement officers would have to face a criminal with an AK-47. What I am most proud of is his respect for human rights and freedom of choice. He would never dream of trying to impose his own religion onto the American people, and would never consider altering the constitution to enforce his own brand of morality. And why wouldn't Bush be a great and successful President? He ran several successful companies without needing Saudi oil money, and got into Stanford because of his grades, not his name. I also respect the fact that he served nobly in vietnam and didn't pull strings to get transferred to the champaign division of the national guard. And even if he were transferred, he would have served his time faithfully and would not need supervisors to pad his scores and embellish his evaluations.
Oh wait, no....sorry, I was thinking about Fantasy Bush, the president who was legitimately elected in 2000. Huh. Well in that case it looks like I'll be voting for Kerry.
