Personally, my favorites are the first and second movies.
For those of you who think the third one was (one of) the best, what exactly did you like about it?
Yesterday, I got into a discussion with a friend about the movies, and she told me that the third movie is said to be the best out of the three. She even said one of her friends said it was the best one, hands down. Personally, I really don't see that. I saw the movie when it came out, and I couldn't really enjoy it as much as I did the first two. So since I had that discussion with my friend, I decided to rent the third movie today and watch it, to see if I could appreciate it better than I did back when I saw it eleven years ago. I still wasn't feeling it. The story itself was okay, but it just seemed to be missing something. For one thing, Shredder wasn't involved. Then, it acts as though the first two movies never even happened. Sure there's Casey Jones, and I know that the Turtles don't always deal with Shredder even in all the episodes of the new TMNT cartoon series, but still.

1 and 2... Despite having all of them on VHS as a child, I remember not a single scene from part 3... 1 and 2, however, I remember more from... And were fun and good...
The end...

3 was terrible. The first one was sweet, 2 was kinda laid back and more comical, which was ok. I prefer the more serious nature of the first one.

It's a really, really tough call between Turtles one and two, but I think I'll have to go with the original. I remember first seeing it was so dramatic, and when Raphael said "Damn" a few times I was astounded! What language! Anyway, this takes nothing away from Secret of the Ooze which was brilliant in its own right, but the original has the advantage of being first.
What I find strange is that the first movie has some fairly racist lines which I never noticed before I rented the movie recently. For example:
April, while being surrounded by the obviously Asian foot clan has this exchange...
Foot Soldier: We have been looking for you, Miss O'Neil.
April : Am I behind on my Sony payments again?
Foot Soldier: Your mouth may yet bring you much trouble, Miss O'Neil. I deliver a message.
[Slaps her in the face]
Foot Soldier: Shut it!
And later when the Turtles are all in the back of a large truck, one of then makes some remark like, "Man, now I know what it feels like to drive around without a green card!"
So, they aren't that bad, but I was surprised to see those kinda lines in the movie...

Honestly, when i was younger, TMNT was my life.
Honestly, I think I have almost every TMNT toy in existance from about 10 years ago
I have the TMNT sewer set, the Big...Grey...thing with the eye on the top..
I have tons more.
I have like, all the friggin toys...or "action figures".
The ones that are my favs are the ones where each of them have a suit of removable silver armour, and the armour turns into a creature, and the weapons are certain parts.
Like Leo is a dragon, and the sword is the tail, and Michalangelo is a Tarantula, and the nunchucks are the legs.
Rapheal is some wierd....bird....thiung....and his...weapon..things are the claws.
Good times.
I even remember Christmases where I got most of the toys.
Good 'ol nostalgia.

I kept all mine.....They are all in 2 or 3 separate big brown boxes. But this boxcutters too dull. Otherwise, I'd end it all.
Seriosuly, though, 2 boxes full.
And sorry. Technodrome. ;)

I hardly had any toys from the TMNT toy line. All I had was action figures for Leonardo, Donatello, and Krang. I also had this canister of the retromutagen ooze, and somehow it turned into liquid.
I also used to watch the cartoon a lot, and then somewhere along the line I slacked off and just didn't bother with it anymore. I kind of regret it though. There might be hope anyway, since the whole first season (which consists of five episodes) is on DVD, with four episodes from the tenth and final season that were said to have never aired in the US. I have the DVD. So, maybe all the ther seasons will be put out on DVD in full.
There was also this short lived series called Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation. I never even bothered with that.
I gave the new cartoon a chance, and I watch it all the time. I even have all the DVDs that are out so far.
I also own the first two movies on DVD.

i only remember the first movie, i've never seen the third movie...amd the second one i know ive seen but i dont remember it...
i have the first movie on VHS...i must've watched it like a bazillion times..good movie, i love it...
I liked all of them. I can't remember much of the second, because the first one and the second one were more memorable. I mean, they went back in TIME in the 3rd one. That's antics right there!

I know all of those toys your talking about Typh...because I still have them all!!!! My brother and I had them out the other day playing with them for old times sake. When I was little, TMNT was also my life...I watched the cartoon ALL THE TIME. We only had three channels back then, so my dad recorded them when they were on, and I was always watching my recorded shows when they werent airing them on TV. I wish they would bring the old ones back...maybe on ABC Family, they show a lot of retro cartoons on there.
On the topic of movies...I own all three, and I love all three. Back when I was a kid, number 2 (secret of the ooz) was my favorite, because it was funnier and I thought that the mutants in it were just cool. And when I was an even younger child, I was afraid of Shredder in the first one.
But now, looking back on it, the first one is my favorite. I will never ever forget the final fight scene with Shredder on the rooftop. I remember hiding behind a pillow watching it all play out, although I had seen it about a million times.

I think I like two the best. It's the only one I really remember since I haven't watched any of the movies for a really long time. I was fascinated with the concept of the Ooze and it's power. Like many others, TMNT played a big part in my childhood. I have many of the action figures, I watched the original cartoon like Vampyr, and I loved the original video games playing co-op with my friends.
I like the first one the best, it is just classic.
The third one was where they went back in time and fought like ninja's and samurai's, right?

I replied to this thread yesterday but it somehow disappeared.
Anyway,
I like 1 and 2 the best, eventhough I do have all 3 on DVD. I like the storyline the best in 2, but I don't like the girl that plays April and I don't like the fact that Casey Jones isn't in it. So when asked, I tend to say that I like 1 better.
3 is ok, but I REALLY don't like April in it and the plot line is a little "out there." I like to watch it every once in a while but I definately watch the first two more often.

I made this thread at some other message forums I go to, and someone even mentioned that a fourth movie is being worked on. Even though I wouldn't mind a fourth being made (mind you, so long as it's a good one), I'm just not sure if it's wise to even make one these days. Sure there's a new TMNT series airing right now, and a new generation of kids will be getting into it, but veteran fans like myself would probably be the only ones who would get the most out of it.

I was so excited the other day when I was talking to my mom on the phone and she said that my little brother was watching Ninja Turtles. I yelled, Yay!

That is some interesting news...and I hope and pray that it's true. :) Just so long as they hold it true to how the last three movies were...not try and get fancy to impress the new younger generation of kids.
Maybe they could make it about the return of super shredder? I always thought that would be really neat.

Now I'm being told that it all got canned. So I guess there's no fourth movie coming after all. Something tells me one will probably be made sometime, but I'm not counting on anything.
As for the idea of Super Shredder, TMNT 3 would probably be better if he was involved.
By the way, I want to apologize for not making the poll so that there would only be three choices, and then people can just vote for all choices that apply to them, whether there would be one, two, or all three for a person. Someone from another forum told me that I could have done it that way.

first one was the best by a long freaking shot. and they changed april and that blozed....they changed how the turtles looked, how splinter looked, and how raphael sounded... i didnt' dig it at all after the first.
I lie, i did love the other two, but the first one was freaking flawless.
