Dear GT Forum members, and staff members.
I am leaving GameTavern. Before you get angry, or choose to follow me or something, I have to say a few things. I'm not leaving because of anything GT did. I love GameTavern. It is a GREAT site. Stay here. I don't want you to leave. I want to see GameTavern succeed. When I saw people saying bad things about GT when they left, I was disapointed in them, so I won't do the same.
I'm going to Nintendose, to work with them. Some of you might be yelling Traitor, or something like that, but let's hear me out, okay? Many years ago I found NintendoDolphin.net. When I was hired to the site, I made a little pledge of loyalty. There were sites that asked for me to go to them, but I said to myself "I'm staying with this staff until it dies". And so you must be thinking something along the lines of "GT's not dead! What's he talkin' bout?" And yes, it's true. GT isn't dead. It still lives on. However, GT is no longer NintendoDolphin.net. It's no longer Nintendose.com. Hell, it's not even Gametavern.com . This isn't to say it's gotten worse or anything, it's still maintains it's supremacy, but it's not the same site. Things change, and so do interests. But one thing doesn't seem to change. Friendships. Since the days of NintendoDolphin.net, the staff member I seemed to get along with the best was then Fenix Luna, which many of you know now better as RJ Layton. Since we were first on the ND.net staff, we've kept in close contact. Even through hard times with the site(s), we've remained talking, and have been close friends. And so I'm going to work with him again. That's why. It's nothing about GT. And as I leave, there are some things I must say.
First, I want to thank the current staff member of GT that I always have talked to, and hope to continue to talk to, PureEvil/Rob. Rob, you have done wonders for GT. Since it's start, you have been one of the (if not THE) hardest working staff members I've ever seen. I hope there are no hard feelings in my leaving.
Next, Crash and Cam. If you ever read this, trust in knowing that you guys were great. Cam, I've known you longer, and talked to you many times, and listen to me when I say, you, Crash, and Rob were the three reasons that kept me here as long as I did.
Finally, the news posters. Geo, Kevin, and Earl. I just started talking to you recently, but you guys have been the coolest. You're good guys, and keep with what you're doing. You are very skilled.
And everyone in the forums, Moderators and posters. You guys are what keeps GT alive. You keep it different. Stay here, and keep doing what you are doing. I don't visit forums often, so I don't know most of you that well, but I'm sure if I did, I'd be saying a special goodbye to most of you too.
So that's it. With that, I say good bye. So staff of GT, keep what you're doing, keep GT the incredible site it is, and I hope we can work together sometime in the future.
Goodbye, and god bless,
Darren McLeod,
Former GT Staff Member.
