The President has been accused of being wired to his advisors to get help during the first debate. A picture suggests the transmitter was planted on this back after someone put this photo up on the internet:

http://i.a.cnn.net/cnn/2004/ALLPOLITICS/10/10/bush.rumor.ap/story.bush.pool.jpg

Do you think the President was being wired information during the first debate?

1. Then why did he do so poorly?
2. Have you ever heard of a spine?

1. Maybe his advisors suck.
2. I havent seen anyone with a square piece in their spine.

I'd be more worried about Elvis modating the third debate.

Like really, I am sure that they were probably checked for stuff like this. And also, if Bush did use a radio, I'm sure they would have a smaller one in a better hiding spot than smack dab in the middle of his back.

I need a video from behind just in case someone photoshop'd it ;)

I dont know.....it is Bush. He might have thought since their would be no cameras behind him that it would be an awesome place for it.

And then, if its not a radio, what is it?

Is he a robot?

Does he have a reverse, external pacemaker on his back?

Did he forget to take the clotheshanger out of his jacket before putting it on?

Whats the box?

it may actually make sense, because he did seem to make random faces during the debate.

I noticed that Kerry was taking some notes, then I heard on the radio that note taking wasn't allowed.

Okay with micro transmitters and the technology the us has.. I don't think that the pres would have something that big if he wanted to be wired to the advisors. :) I mean seriously.. Kerry on the other hand was in the wrong for taking notes.. Bad kerry BAD>.>!!!

Ok, with all of this micro this, and nano that. Please inform us all with your technology expertise as to what the BIG FRIGGIN BOX IS.

I say, most likely scenario is he forgot to take out the clotheshanger, and all those funny/wierd faces he was making wasnt from peopl etalking to him and him registering it, it was from the metal poking in his back.

Which would you prefer, a President who cheats in debates, or a President too stupid to remove metal from his jacket.

EDIT:

Did you notice how his aides just deny it. They never said what it actually was.

You're right. It wouldn't make sense for it to be a transmitter. Wonder what it is though.

However, about your whole note taking slam - were you even paying attention during the entire debate? Bush took notes too - and I'm sure would have taken more if he was literate.

I don't think he was actually taking notes, I think he saw Kerry taking notes and liked the way it made him look, so he tried to mimic him...

Yeah, there is no way that note taking wasn't allowed. All candidates have done it out in the open for every single debate. I'm not sure where anyone got the idea that is was not allowed.

Joeiss
10-11-2004, 12:23 PM
I am pretty sure note taking was allowed, considered they even agreed to what kind of pen and paper they could use in that huge rule book they used.

Ace195

Eh.. I only said kerry was in the wrong because someone said note taking was off limits.. But eh... I couldn't tell you what it is.. Maybe it's attahed to a microphone transmitter so if the pres or kerry steps away from the pod it would still be a mic... I mean haven't you people seen the tv shows... ? the microphone box is big about the size of a cigarette (SP ) pack..

But those go onto the top of the pants, around the small of the back. Not in the middle of your back.

Eh.. I only said kerry was in the wrong because someone said note taking was off limits..

I see how it is. If its off limits and they both do it, only Kerry should get in trouble. It all makes sense now.

Blackmane
10-11-2004, 04:33 PM
And if it was off-limits and Kerry was doing it anyways, Bush should do it too so that it doesn't look different between them.

Don't shirts sometimes have that square in the back? I think my dress shirts have one. Why is everyone always trying to find ways to make everyone seem worse than they are? Damn media..

You know, I wouldn't be surprised if Kerry wasn't always taking notes when he appeared to be anyway. He might have been practicing his signature for all we knew. And so was Bush (although I didn't see Bush doing it so much in the first debate. Then again, he looked really out of it).

To be honest, hardly ever, but that doesn't meant I haven't. I guess what I meant with what I said, is well that it sucks that we're always doing that instead of writing about what's good about these candidates. I know that bad stuff sells though.

Just a quick question here.

Why make a post telling us you wont make a post about your opinion?

And by the way you word things, its like you want an argument. Like you thrive on conflict or something.

I agree with Typhoid on this. Strangler, if all you are going to do is sit around and not comment on politics, thats fine. I have no problem with people who don't feel like commenting for whatever reason. I find it irritating, however, when someone acts like they are a level above all us "common ignorant folk" and must mention that we are idiots and don't deserve to have you say something about the subject everytime something like this comes up.

So, don't make prodding comments like that, please.

The county I live in (Arlington) is largely made up of democrats...

I was at work (Ben and Jerry's) the night of the second debate... We listened to it over the radio (not a very busy night), and the few customers we had in from the hour the debate was on before we closed were all loudmouthed republicans...

One used his "outside voice" to impress his friends with his knowledge (opinions) on everything Kerry said ever, shooting down his points before he'd even made them...

Another, on his way to the bathroom, decided to stop halfway through the door to stop and lecture us "impressionable" young folk on who we should vote for...

My uncle and Aunt are republican, and they believe Bush blew Kerry away during the first debate... They (along with my republican grandpa) believe it's their job to pester my democratic dad (if you didn't know, they're all from the same side of the family) about how he's voting for the wrong side, is stupid for voting democratic, is a disgrace (you may think I'm exagerating, I'm not) etc etc every time politics is brought up in the slightest way...

This may seem irrelavant to the topic of The Strangler's comments... But.......

Well what I'm trying to do here is counter his you guys are stupid I'm better than you attitude with a jump to conclusions all republicans are loudmouth asshole comment...

and Shawn Hannity would make a good nazi...

I find the claim rather funny, but I find most things in politics funny, so eh.

Anyhow, on the issue about no note-taking. You were allowed to take notes, but you were not allowed to bring anything to the debate podlum with you. Some people accused Kerry of bringing note-cards and a pen to the debate, I think there is a video of him pulling something out of his pocket, could of been a pen, could of been his reading glass, but it's just as out there as this debate.

1. Then why did he do so poorly?
It takes time to look up information and then rely it back, and there could of been break-up and all this other stuff, which would probably have explained it.

There are much more important things that you could be arguing about, like who would win in a frankenstein vs. dracula fight to the death. Personally I think dracula would clean up, but then again the frankenstein monster is crazy strong. Discuss.
