I've been using it. I really liked the feature that auto-updated whatever extensions weren't compatible with it automatically when you first boot it up. I haven't run into any problems yet (aside from the fact that about 6 of my extensions don't have updates available), so I'm pretty happy.

Anyway, just wondering if anybody else upgraded...

I'll be updating once the extensions I use are 1.0 compatible. There is a few I just can't live without in Firefox :D

Just downloaded it the other day. Liking it so far. Nice, simple, and clean look.

Yeah, Adblock has been one of my favorites for a while now. Very effective.

Adblock is an extension that improves the adblocking within Firefox.

What what what? Could it be? A lowly Internet Explorer user, carelessly browsing the web - completely unbeknownst to the fact that there is something better out there?

:p

I'm just teasing you. Firefox is a web browser you can get over at http://www.mozilla.org

A lot of us on the forums (and the world, really) have been using Firefox for a while now. Version 1.0PR is just a Preview Release (that's what PR is for). So it's not quite v1.0, but we all know what it's like for now.

Firefox has a lot of features that Internet Explorer doesn't. It's also safer from hackers and exploiters on the web and surfs faster on average.

I know what Firefox is (using it now :p) I just didn't know what 1.0PR was....

How do you get images to show? I can't see any pictures that people post here in GT. Is there some other option besides loading images in the options?

Well, I took the dive and went to 1.0PR and all my extensions except for tab browser preferences (which I can live without) are compatible so I'm happy now that they all work :D

Time to get me some new extensions that may interest me

I just downloaded Firefox 1.0. Got tired of the pop ups on my computer. Still not really sure how to use all the features but there aren't any pop ups.

*Shrugs* I was going to make a thread to introduce Firefox 1.0PR back then but yeah...

I don't use Firefox 1.0PR ,but what I do use is the nightly branch builds of Firefox each day on Linux :)

http://squarefree.com/burningedge/

I have 16 branch builds ready to go with it's own profile.... sheesh I need to do some house cleaning.

The branch builds since early Oct has a really nice new feature. It one has use "Tab Browser Preferences" extension then that is close to what is in branch builds and soon to be realeased RC1, RC2 and 1.0 release.

The most extensive and often most up to date on extensions can be found at the very popular unofficial http://www.extensionsmirror.nl/

And if you read this far... The Firefox 1.0 Release is planned for no later then Nov.11 as more info from Ben Goodger can be found at http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/ben/archives/006658.html
