This is the sport I have been playing all my life. Since i was 5.
I joined in the wierdest way. I was at the park with my friend who used to play, when we were 5, and i could kick the ball good, so the coach asked me if i wanted to be on his team. I ran home, and here I am.
I started out playing Defense, because i wasnt all too fast.
The 4 years ago i moved up to Defensive Midfielder, then 2 years ago i was playing solely Midfield.
Then last year i was subbed in for an injured foreward, and my coach realised i have awesome ball control ( deking people out), good penalty kick accuracy, good crossing, and I can be super fast when i feel like running.
So now I play Foreward, and im happy about that. I dont score allot of goals, im more of the "behind the scenes" guy. I set upt he goals, create the headers, pass it to the middle, deke the defenders out. But no questions asked, last year, i had the most points on the team. ( I'll look later)
But our new season starts this Sunday, which blows, Because we dont get in any pre-season games.
And this year is awesome because we have a sponsor, so we got our own custom jerseys with our names on them, and shorts, for free. We are getting all our team trips funded for, and we get our picture on the wall of the restaraunt who sponsors us. :)
( For those who live around here, the place is Micheals...and its on Wilson....)
But i love soccer now, because since im the tallest on the team ( Besides our goalie, who is taller than me because he spikes his hair or he has a pointy head) I get to block the opposing goalie during corner kicks...which is fun. Because there is alot of shoving and mouthing off.
I also like that when i deke people out, they get mad and try push back, but arnt as tall as me, so they dont nudge me, and i end up hurting them. :)
I have had many a cleating on the back of my legs, and have had to stand my own and my teammates own a fair amount of times.
Example:
One game last year ( agains our "Rivals"..because our two teams hate eachother, there is a brawl every game) One of their players charged one of our defensman, so me and one of the other midfielders ( A big Brown guy) Charged him and tackled him down, broke his nose, and a Donny Brooke ensued.
And believe you me, when you have me and another guy charging at you, you'll sh*t your pants...
So I cant wait for Soccer to start this weekend.
And if your wondering what level I play at, its Silver B, but we found a loophole and dropped down to Bronze A, so the games will be a breeze...Hopefully. :)
