On Saturday me and the same 2 friends went to Six Flags Great America...it was bout time we use our six flags season passes that we paid 45 bucks for again. Looking at the weather forecast the day before, it didnt look good at all. 80% chance of thunderstorms most of the day...but god how I luck out sometimes...it just looked really ominous all day, but it didnt rain until 5 when we were almost ready to leave anyways. Its truly amazing how much the forecast kept down the crowds...we got on almost all of thier 11 or so rollercoasters before 12, when it opened at 10. I was happy because I hadnt been there since 2001, and I got on 3 new coasters, upping my total rollercoaster count to 72. I especially enjoyed superman, because the flying sensation was really cool. Other than that I like Raging Bull a lot, and the whole park was very nice and the staff were very friendly and hard working...not something you see a lot of at some amusement parks. Overall it was a great day. I suppouse I'll post some pictures I took for your enjoyment.

This is a good shot of Superman from the parking lot, right when we got there.

Heres a good shot of Raging Bull and Viper, again from the parking lot. You can also kinda see how awsome of a parking spot we got, about as close as you could possibly be to the gates without being in the wheelchair section.

Superman, from just outside the main gates.

Took this one from inside the Superman station. Shows the lift hill and first drop.

This one shows most of the rest of Superman, along with an empty train...I was the 5th or so person in line, so when we first got to the station they were still running test runs.

Here is the twisted side of V2:Vertical Velocity, SFGAM's Impulse coaster.

That would be the first hill on American Eagle.

This would be Deja Vu, minus the Cobra Roll.

Here is one of the Vertical Loops on Deamon.

The lift hill and first drop on Deamon. Also the first turn of Raging Bull in the background.

The first drop of Raging Bull.

And last but not least, a nice shot of the first turn on Raging Bull.

Good ol' weathermen. Now if only I could choose a day where it may rain and I can ride any ride within a few minutes in line

Ah, considering you live In California, and this one Is in Chicago, I doubt it. You might be thinking of Six Flags Magic Mountain. And Jonbo, I wouldnt say we got on ALL within a few minutes of waiting in line, but we definatley did the first hour or so we were there...after 12 it got a little more crowded...still, the longest wait was the second time we rode superman, which ended up being 45 minutes...which still wasnt all that bad for one of the newest and best rides in the park.

I like a spinning ride that's called Topsy Turvy. It feels like you're spinning at G-Force speeds. It's a ground ride. It feels similar to a centerfuge.

Good pictures. To bad the Superman is a weak coaster, and a cheap gimmick. I spend most of my time on the superior American Eagle and Raging Bull.

Heh Heh...wow. Its called Top Thrill Dragster and its at Cedar Point in Sandusky Ohio. Yes ive heard of it, yes ive been on it. Once this year and once last year. Its 420 feet tall and goes from 0-120 MPH in 4 seconds. To be honest it is quite a quick little rush, but its over so fast you dont have a chance to really get a feel for just how high up you are. And it lasts well less than a minute...about 17 seconds...another major gripe on it. That and its constantly breaking down. Lets just say while it is the tallest and fastest in the world, its most definatley not the best. Check out my blog from a few months ago, its got some pics of various parks, including Cedar Point and Top Thrill Dragster. http://www.gametavern.net/forums/showthread.php?t=9068

man I wish that I could go to six flags, the only place I've ever been to was the county fair.
