"Mario Party animals rejoice - Mario Party 6 takes the crowd-pleasing series to the next level with more than 75 all-new mini-games, six fresh game boards and a Nintendo GameCube Mic.
Clash with your friends in party-rockin' mini-games like Mowtown, Catch You Letter, Astaroad Rage and Cashapult.

A new day and night system gives game boards and mini-games a split personality! Boards transform, characters emerge from hiding and mini-games change dramatically depending on the time of day.

The game comes with a Nintendo GameCube Mic. Now you can control some furiously fun mini-game action with the sound of your voice.

Faster movement: Speed around the board! Now there's less down time between turns and mini-games!
Game Storyline: The Mario Party series returns with more of everything. In the single-player Story mode, Brighton and Twila – otherwise known as the sun and the moon – are embroiled in a bitter feud over who's more impressive. It’s up to Mario and his party-hearty cohorts to settle the spat and restore order to the cosmos. Multiplayer Party mode features more than 75 all-new mini-games and six game boards.

Characters: Mario™, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi®, Daisy, Wario™, Waluigi, Boo, Koopa Kid, Bowser, Donkey Kong® and Toad.

How to progress through the game: In Party mode, players take turns traveling around game boards while competing with friends (or CPU players) for coins and stars in frantic mini-games! Story mode offers a strong single-player experience. In Mic mode, players speak into the Mic to answer questions in a game show.

Special powers/weapons/moves/features: Included Nintendo GameCube Mic gives gamers the power to play mini-games by issuing voice commands, and lightning-fast movement around the board gives Mario Party 6 a much faster feel than previous games in the series."

I mean I'm all for a new MArio PArty game, I mean so I can kick more ass, but even more gimmicks,

But eh, we shall see.

Sorry, but you've been brainwashed into thinking every accessory Nintendo makes now is a gimmick. A friggin mic is not a gimmick. It's called spicing up the gameplay.

Hell, when Nintendo announces MP7 and adds camera support, lets all call that a gimmick too.

But anywho, sounds cool.

ANOTHER Mario Party?

All I have to say is

WTF

No matter what they say it'll be another rehash just like the past 5 mario parties.

Ok, I don't think everything Nintendo does is a gimmick.

I was one of the few people who thought and till do that connectivity hs some potential. I mean it has introduced some fresh gameplay into older games like Pac-Man, or spice up multiplayer.

This IMO, is a gimmick. And I for am, have no problem with gimmicks much like FLUDD in Mario Sunshine or even those special moves in the new Mario Tennis.

But do you really need mic support in Mario PArty 6? Then again I would of been content with speeding up the turns, adding more mini-games and new board events and calling it a day. We shall see how it works out.

Someone at my school will buy.

Eww... in the past I've usually only rented Mario Parties (with the exception of the first and fifth..) but does that mean we have to use mics other people used now? Eww. =\

I love the Mario Party games, because they are super fun. I havent bought any except for Mario Party the origional, or Mario Party 2, I cant remember which one it is.

But this game shall bring excitement to parties for all.

And i agree with Dyne on the "Eww"

omg. ANOTHER ONE?!

Jeez...the first one was extremely fun...I played it a lot with my brother, and I really loved saving up my money to buy new items and such...but please...Mario Party 6?...

Nintendo needs to break this bad habit of theirs. You can't repeatedly rehash and reuse or recycle games and expect to see repeated profits and acceptance.

I now dub Nintendo: Re-Nintendo

It's so obvious that neither of you played Mario Party 5; and if you did, you didn't play it enough. Mario Party 5 was a breath of fresh air into the series and really saved it from the rehash problems that people have had with it.

If Mario Party 6 is adding time functionality and microphone support it should definitely provide some good gameplay additions.

No, I havnt played MP5.

I have played and own the first one and the fourth one, though, and I have played everyone in between. (I dont technically own the fourth one...my brother got it as a Christmas gift, but it still counts, imo.) And I must say that the first 4 were very simple cookie cutter rebakes of the first one.

Taking 5 tries to make an original game is NOTHING to brag about. Maybe the reason Crono and I havnt played 5 is that the first FOUR were all practically the same thing?

Maybe Five did breathe some life back into the series. But it was too late.

I love all the mini-games. There always fun. I think a good game would be instead of having a board just put all the mini-games on one game sort of like Wario Ware Inc. That would be sweet.

Vampyr, you forget that the first 4 are for the N64 ( I believe) and the other two ( 5 and 6) are for GC.

Which means they can have more, and do more, with a more powerful machine.

5 is not a re-make of the first 4 and I doubt 6 will be either. But who am I to judge?

sounds interesting. There have been many Mario Party games, but I think I might look into this 1

Well, actually 4 was on the Gamecube. And if Nintendo was hoping to impress people the first time around, they did a bad job.

Vampyr, I agree that it's nothing to brag about. But the fact it took that many times doesn't change the fact that they did get it right. You're right, they should be frowned at for their lack of insight into the minds of Party Gamers. But if 6 follows in the footsteps of 5, it should be a great game.

Well, first and foremost, I don't see why Nintendo is blamed for this. They don't make the games. Sure, they allow it to be made every year, but there is no logical reason for them not to.

It takes up none of their resources.
It sells excellently year after year.
And it gets Mario out there more.

I don't blame em, don't agree with em but can't fault em.

on the subject of rehashes, I really don't care. Hudson/Nintendo changes the only important thing every year and that's minigames. For all I care it could have the same boards, same characters, same specials, but the mini games are the meat and bread of the series. And they always come up with tons of fun ones.

I personally have something against yearly sequels (sans wrestling games). So I've owned MArio Party, Mario Party 2 and got Mario Party 4 for free.

And for those complaining.. I would just like to point out there are tons of games getting a 3rd or 4th iteration this year, and this gen has only been like 4 years.

I mean do we need two Splinter Cells in one year?

Acutally, Crono did play MP5, he played it with me. And no, it wasn't a breath of fresh anything, it was the same old crap you come to expect by the 5th game in tremendously rehashed series of games. Adding a feature or two doesn't change the root of the game. Kind of like giving Mario a waterpack.

Hmmmmm........MP6...75 mini games and a mio. Doesn't sound bad, although Nintendo would have used some other kind of unique device with the game.

I wonder if they're using the mic in MP6 as a testing ground for a similar device on the revolution. Hmmmmmmmmmm

Heh...no, I didnt forget anything.

And MarioLover you may be correct, they may be a good solid game, but for me to buy something it has to have something new going for it.

A good game maybe, but too much lack of innovation to warrant paying 50 dollars for when I could spend that on a new innovative game.
