Register 5 games?! I registered 2 (that i had to buy at retail price) for the coveted Zelda disk (the one with Zelda 1&2, OoT and MQ) but they want 5 registered games just for a Demo disk? Ebay here I come (in reasonable price range :p )

Well I found out you could only register certain games (thanks Dyne)... I can't get a demo... oh well it comes out in november anyway...

Just subscribe to Nintendo Power. That's instantly paying $20 for it (guaranteed) and you get 12 months of Nintendo Power. Sweet.

..... you're doing those things to get a demo disk? Just wait a few months and you can play the full game.

I don't have time for demoes. :(

I'll check it out...but I highly doubt I will be able to get one. I havnt bought enough recent GCN games I dont think.

And Canyarion is right anyway, it might be wise just to wait for the game. Plus, I'm afraid a demo might ruin the experiance.

Wise to wait for the game? THIS **** IS FREE! How can you pass this offer? It's not JUST a demo, too. It's a full disc of metroid history and stuff.

Free. Free is good.

Well, what Canyarion and I meant is that we arent going to go out of our way to get a demo, buy buying new games just to register them or purchase a new year of Nintendo Power.

Because then it's not really free, is it?

Well crap, I always figured those stupid product registration codes are worthless, I always just throw them away as soon as I see them. Shame.

Owned. :sneaky:

I just leave my stuff as is. I usually smell the manual and put it back, that's all. Then I retreieve the codes when I need them.

I got mine the best way possible. I already had 3 of the 5 games needed for the demo disc. My little brother and I were desparate for it. So my lil bro goes to a GameStop, and looks inside a Final Fantasy: CC disc, and finds a card with the code needed. He stashes it and the clerk doesnt see it. 1 down, 1 to go. THEN he goes to a Blockbuster and does the same thing with a different game, Custom Robo, and again he finds it.

So now Im set for the demo disc, thanks to my brother and me. lol.

...... you know that really sucks for the guy that buys the game?
I really hate it when people do that.
And NO I wouldn't do it AND have never done it. Even a few times when it was sooooo easy to do.

I got the Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time, by preordering Wind Waker.

Nintendo sucks for doing that. I know people out there that preordered Wind Waker just so they could play Master Quest. Master Quest was truly awesome, so I didn't mind preordering Wind Waker, but that was the only "special offer" I completed.

The other Zelda disc looked cool, but I didn't feel like subscribing to Nintendo's subpar magazine, or registering games that I didn't own. And anyways, I own Majora's Mask, and the bonus disc didn't have A Link To The Past.

(My friend that did order Nintendo Power for the disc was SUPER PISSED when he heard that they released the original Zelda for GBA. That was the only reason he got the disc)

There's no way in hell I'd go out and buy the 5 games to get a demodisc. I'll just buy the game in November, and you all should too.

Metroid is such an awesome game too. I would think that it would detract from the overall experience if you played a demo before the game came out, but that's just me.

Nintendo has done a lot of stupid things this generation, and one of them was making these bonus discs so hard to get. Getting a bonus disc on preorder is logical, but having to register online and order their magazine.....that's just weak.

I love Nintendo, but I don't like their marketing strategies.

So maybe store demos are pointless too?

I agree that getting a bonus disc upon preorder is logical, but what if you're already an NP subscriber (like myself), and have always planned to renew your subscription (like myself)?

Alright. I'm kinda pissed. I've got a lot of Nintendo first party games. And yet most of them are too old to have the product registration code in them. Therefore I only have 3. So if anybody's got an extra one or two, please, send them my way.

Other than that, how do I get my fricking Gameboy player off of my system to see the GameCube serial number?

If you were ever online, I could help you with that :p

But it's simple, you take it off the same way you put it on ;)

But seriosuly, you can use a nickel to take off the GameBoy Player, just unscrew it.

Demos aren't pointless in all situations: But, I think it would be fair to say that Metroid Prime 2 won't stray very far from the type of gameplay that was in the first Metroid. Personally, I don't want anything to do with the Metroid 2 demo. I can't wait for the game, and I just feel that every bit of gameplay I don't play now will be much more enjoyed later. I feel that way with Halo 2 as well. I also felt that way with Warcraft 3.....I could have beta tested, but I was so excited about the game, I just said no. Demos can help new players decide if they want or like the type of game, but some store demos are fairly limited.

If you haven't played Metroid Prime, and you don't intend to play it before the release of Metroid Prime 2, then go for it and get the demo. =/

If you're renewing your Nintendo Power, then it's a good deal, but if you're subscribing to Nintendo Power just to get the game........I don't know. I like my EGM.

Nintendo Power isn't really all that subpar, I guess. It's just a tad bit biased, and I like some decent console debates, even though I'm no fanboy.

Yeah I agree, it's just like movies, for some movies you just don't want to see trailers, because they might contain spoilers. :D

I'll admit it. Since there's no way in hell I'm going to run out and buy three more games (even if they're the cheaper NES Classics for GBA) and register the PIN numbers, I've given in and decided to subscribe to Nintendo Power.

Yes, once again this train wreck of a magazine will be delivered to my house every month. It's only $20, so it's not a HUGE loss.

I'm hoping that it will be a while before Nintendo decides to do another promotion like this. I fear it's gonna be like 13 games next time, so hopefully I can buy some more games and track down more PINs before then.
