I know it's not a big deal. And I think he resigned to prevent any major problems..with the people...because you know how it is..

It's good he made public that fact but resigning shows weakness to me because of it. But I guess he kind of had to because there would be huge outlash by people and I would feel shame for the people who do because its his choice.

But why would the people who have backed you for years suddenly turn on you because your gay?

Bond

Do you people ever look into things? He had a homosexual affair while being married to his wife.

"His administration has been buffeted by some scandal.

A Quinnipiac University poll released August 4 showed McGreevey's approval among state voters fell sharply after two Democratic fund-raisers were indicted on federal charges in July -- one of them accused of lining up prostitutes to discredit a witness in a tax fraud investigation, the other accused of extortion."

You missed the most important word in the report. AFFAIR. With a man.

Somebody told on him. Just like if he had an affair with a woman, his career would be at stake.

So will he get a divorce from his wife? Does he like his wife also? Otherwise, I don't understand how he could have kids?

There's a lot more to this than that he was gay and had an affair. He is currently under investigation, this happened before he made the announcement, for corruption in his office and appointments. He alledgedly has used public funds to pay off his blackmailing lover, keeping him on as a "non-typing" secretary.

Try watching the news. 1) I live right next to Philly, so its all over the news over here. 2) Its all over the major news channels like CNN and Fox.

On Thursday, McGreevey's office contacted the FBI about alleged extortion attempts by his former lover, Golan Cipel (search), sources told FOX News. The governor's office alleged that Cipel had said he would get rid of a threatened sexual harassment lawsuit for $5 million.

Cipel could not immediately be reached for comment.

Cipel, an Israeli poet, was once employed in the governor's office at salary of $110,000 a year. He was a subject of controversy because although he was designated a homeland security adviser, as a foreign citizen, he could not obtain a federal security clearance. McGreevey later reassigned him to a "special counsel" position, which had no specific duties.

Wow, that took me all of one minute to find and post. See what keeping up on current events gets you?

Not trying to be an ass or anything, I'm just asking.

Has it occured to you that im an opinionated a**hole at anytime?

I like to speak my mind, nomatter how much or how little i know. Its what i do. Im never blatently claiming im right at anything i say. I learn things by doing it however, i learn things about current events, without having to sit through the news.

Now, dont get me wrong, i do keep up with certain current events, just because i dont know certain things taht are happening on the east coast of the US, doesnt mean i know nothing of current events. And im not claiming i know alot that happen on the west coast of Canada.

i do watch the news, but i dont read the paper every day about foreign affairs, i dont watch CNN every day to see whats going on in the US. I have things arond my own community to be aware of.

Like 2 days ago a man jumped out of his car, shot a woman, and got 14 bullets put through his torso by the cops.
A man drove by, grabbed the woman and rushed her to the hospital while being shot at by the shooter.
All of this happened 10 minutes ( not even) from my house.

Im not saying any of you know of this, because it didnt happen near you. And im not going to call you out on it either.

So you just speak whatever's on your mind, not caring if it makes you look like a dumbass or not? Sorry but I think that's a pretty dumb way to do things, and makes your arguements useless.

Just my own opinion, if you don't know what you're talking about, you don't belong in a debate. I'm sorry, but 'tis the truth.

Where did i say i dont care if i look like a dumbass?

And so your telling me if i thought i wasnt a dumbass, my arguments would be more valid?

You said that you didn't care if you were right or wrong. As far as I'm concerned, a wrong person = dumbass.

And yes, if you knew what you were talking about, your arguements would indeed be more valid.

Thats not what you said the first time.

" Sorry but I think that's a pretty dumb way to do things, and makes your arguements useless"

Referring to if I care that I look like a dumbass.

Now you say

"And yes, if you knew what you were talking about, your arguements would indeed be more valid"

Referring to if i know what im talking about.

These both mean way different things.

So before you try to confuse me once more, please stick to a side. Dont Kerry it up in here.

So your saying, evryone whos ever been wrong about something is a dumbass? Thats a little messed up if you ask me.

Ok, my basic point was/is that, if someone doesn't know what they are talking about, and try to argue with someone. They are a dumbass and they do make themselves look like an idiot to everyone else.

I'm just saying in previous debates you followed a similar path. Anyway, I'm done... this was a pointless arguement anyway.

I'm going to require you to answer that question for the rest of us to make up for your wildly innappropiate comment. The best way for you to find the answer will be to browse news sites like CNN. You have 24 hours, if the answer isn't in here, we're going to decorate your reputation panel red.

Dude. What the hell guys? Let the man speak his mind. Seriously. He was joking about the whole accomplishment thing. Honestly. You're all just jumping down Typhoids throat because he asked for a link and made some jokes. Yeah, he could have looked for it himself. But if Strangler wanted to post info, he could have linked to it as well. I'm not saying he should have; I'm just saying it would have saved trouble.

As for the joke: I really don't think he meant it to be mean. The guy had a sexual homosexual relationship; that generally includes anal sex (or so I'm assuming :sneaky: ). Big deal that he decided to spell it out. It's like saying a guy had a sexual heterosexual affair. You know what that means too. I've got no problem with homosexuality. It's the way this went down that's really bad.

So can we all just chill? Get off Typhoid's back. Quit with the -rep fun some of you are probably sending him?

Uh, I know it was GameMaster. And I know he's a great guy - but he's also an admin. And generally when an admin says something like that, people are wise to heed their post. Yet I wasn't trying to aim my post at him (note how I didn't quote him). But I'm pretty sure he's serious. And if he's not, I apologize for misinterpreting him.

But again, my post wasn't at all aimed at GameMaster. There were a couple of people I felt were flaming Typhoid unnecessarily. And by saying "-rep fun some of you are probably sending him" I did indeed mean that plurally (some of you: more than one).

MarioLover, we are on Typhoid's back because he doesn't feel that he needs to educate himself for his opinions to be taken seriously. That is a SERIOUS flaw that he needs to correct if he ever wants anyone to take him or his opinions seriously.

Its fine that he's opinionated and is passionate about his opinions, but if he's basing those opinions on ignornance no one will care what he says and in the end he's just babbling to himself.

i dont think i ever said i "dont feel the need" to educate myself. I just dont. Hel, who wouldnt like to learn more, and know more stuff?

And like i said, i dont care if my opinions are taken seriously or not, opinions are subjective. Its up to the reader. I look at people here ( not naming names, because ther is more than one) who say things, some back then with sites some dont, and i dont always take their arguments seriously.

An opinion is a personal feeling and thought, I never knew to share an opinion you have to back it up with side notes, references, citing, and pretty much turn it into an essay.

I really wanted to say something profound here, but I am completely baffled by this conversation. Its one thing for someone to be stupid, but to be proud of their stupidity defies words. I cry for the future. Later.

Before telling someone they are wrong, read a little, get your facts straight, then try it. Thank you.
