Well I played Doom 3 for several hours last night (with full detail) and I have to say, it was amazing. I played it in the dark with my friends on the hardest setting and I just about shat myself.

The game is very pretty. And because of the Doom franchise thusfar I figured that would be the only good thing. However, I was very wrong. The story, while not incredible, definitely grabs ahold of you.

Anyway, I know that's kind of vague, but nobody else was offering any impressions.

Anybody else have any experiences they'd like to share?

I'm pretty half and half. I love a good single player game as much as a great multiplayer one.

I've been playing it on High detail at 1024x768 and while the graphics are nice, I get utterly bored with the game. And with it being so effin dark, its hard to see enemies when they are against a corner and I'm trying to shoot at them blindly in the dark. I know the dark sets the modd for the game and shows how well the lighting is, but it bugs the living hell out of me.

Pretty graphics, decent controls, everything else is a bore to me, IMO.

*Patiently awaits for HL2 even more then before*

What? I thought you said you werent going to get it anytime soon?

Anyways, I dont think im even going to bother, I heard its really short, and I prefer a good Single Player experience to a good multiplayer one anyways.

I've been playing it and I really like the game has some very nice detail put into this game TLC I'd like to say for the game. I do agree with Jon it's too dark in certain scenes. That and isn't the year like 2150 ? You'd think they would have a mounted flashlight to a gun or something something to make it a bit easier not on the shotgun or the assualt rifle just on the handgun so you can shoot the pesky little Fers that pop out of the corners. Other than that great F*in Game :)
