Whenever I try to launch Kazaa Lite, an error occurs. I'm afraid it has something to do with my spyware killers or my anti-virus...

I have SpywareBlaster (I think this one's the problem), Ad-awere (had it for ages), SpyBot (recent, but it worked with Kazaa) and McAfee (could be the problem too).

Do you have any idea what it could be?? I tried reinstalling but it didn't work.
I tried to use kazaa media desktop (I know :-o) but no luck either.

Perhaps I should uninstall Spywareblaster and see if it works again?

i've heard of viruses on the kazaa network that do something like that.

i prefer just not to use it anymore. too many viruses on everything.

What do you suggest me to use?? I need to download :p cause I'm only using 1/10 of my data limit or something. ;)

(my parents don't have a data limit so I can DL most stuff there)

My K-lite will not even connect anymore!

Rely on something else dude. There are a plethora of P2P apps that beat the pants off K-lite

My kazaa lite did the exact same thing canyarion. It ask me to send an "error report". Nothing fixed it.

I switched to limewire.

..... no.....
I live on my own. I have ADSL there. With a data limit of 8GB.

At my parents' place, they have cable with no limit. So I get most of my stuff there... get it? :)

But again, what sharing program should I use? I tried DC++ or something, but I didn't get it and it didn't work :p

:hmm:

my isp would be kicked to the curb if they gave me a data limit

I use Ares. It's a simple yet awesome d/ling program. All the files there always come out perfect and ppl are usually always online there so you can always find a d/l.

One of the better features is that in the Ares chat you can see all the files that each user has so if you found a specific file you wanted on this person you can d/l from that person and it will also try to find other users with the file. Ares is also completly free and has no ad and/or spyware of any kind: http://www.aresgalaxy.org

LimeWare doesn't install. http://www.aresgalaxy.org doesn't respond. [edit]Argh, all sites link to this website and it doesn't work. Does anyone have the install file perhaps?? That would be great![/edit

But at least I know what to use now. :)

My kazaa lite did the exact same thing canyarion. It ask me to send an "error report". Nothing fixed it. Yep, that's the problem.

Thanks all for the help. rep is already given. :p

Give me your email addy and I'll send you an installer for Kazaa Lite Resurection 0.0.7.6

Otherwise go to www.filesharingplace.com to d/l 0.0.7.5 and the updater.

Also www.zeropaid.com is a good place for filesharing tools.

Indeed. It's just the way to go. Particularly Azureus with SafeGuard.

Yep, thats what I use. Azureus with the Safepeer plugin. Only thing that I hate about it is that it makes AZ take a lot longer to load up.

Yeah, lol. That's what I meant. SafePeer. Man I'm losing it, lol.

Didn't Kazaa do something so people wouldn't be able to use Kazaa Lite anymore?

All I know is that they had to delete all the Kazaa Lite sites. So basicly, you can't find Lite anymore. But enough people still have the install file. ;) (I have...)

Next sunday, when I get to my room again, I'll try some of your suggestions! Thanks!

Didn't Kazaa do something so people wouldn't be able to use Kazaa Lite anymore?

They tried to prevent it from accessing the network by updating it so that KLite couldn't connect. And actually the original KLite doesn't get as good of connections as it used to. But Kazaa Lite Development didn't stop. There are three types of Kazaa Lite now; I like Kazaa Lite Resurrection. But they all are updated by an unannounced 3'rd party that keeps them working.

You'd be surprised at the solutions you come up with when Kazaa doesn't work or is blocked like up at my school..

Let's see there was...
Ares (which is a cool program but limited files)
Shareaze (Pretty good, works with Torrents as well as eMule and eDonkey, and well my main program now)
LimeWire
Filetopia
DC ++
I'm sure there are several others, but eh.

My K-lite doesn't really work that great.

I can't get any downloads to go faster than .50 kb/sec.

So, something's wrong.

Does limewire have spyware?

I try to use Azerus as much as possible though.

Yeah I'm pretty sure the free version does UNLESS you get the newest beta (which is spyware and adware free).

Bearshare Lite is great, free, and official if you're wanting Gnutella access.

WinMx works well as well.

My only pet peeve with WinMX are the long queue times. If you are patient enough to wait, it is great. The network has plethora of stuff.

I used to use Limewire, I've been using a promgram called Acquisition for quite some time now though, it's great. Unfortunatley, it's only for OS X.
