I have more spyware, but it's not as bad this time. The only problem is that my homepage keeps changing to this one spyware popup site thing.. Plus I noticed that the font is bigger than it should be on a few of the sites I go to. I made a forum for my school, and the font on that is like 3 times bigger, and on my xanga, it's bigger. It's really annoying as well. I've run adaware and spybot numerous times...but nothing has worked. Does anyone have any suggestions?

And use Mozilla.

I got the spyware blaster.........when you posted that..

Edit: Ah..Mozilla is much better..thanks..It seems more open though. I'll get used to it. It's very nice, thank you Bond.

Only one more problem. The popup page that's my homepage on IE pops up too. I wonder how I could just delete it?! Even if I do fix this problem, I'm still only going to use Mozilla.

Thank you Bond and Classic Rocker. Bond for finally convincing me to use Mozilla, and Classic Rocker for showing me AVG AntiVirus. I did infact have some trojans on this computer. Anyway..I realize this is a double post but I don't feel like editing my other post, and I doubt anyone would see what I said if I just edited my other post.

more open? how so?

you know you can configure it and add icons and such as you wish. you can make it look almost identical to IE if thats your thing.

I'll get used to it. Everything new is different, so it will just take a week or two for me to get used to using it. It's fine. I like it a lot though.

Certain hijacker situations require you to go in and manually change the system files. I know ad-aware can have difficulty fixing some browser issues, especially with internet explorer. Familiarize yourself with this little ditty: Regedit.

Go to Run.....then type regedit. It lets you mess with all your wonderful system files. You can use it to kill certain spyware programs so they don't run on start up and ect.

Just be careful. You can also ruin your computer by messing up configuration files.

I have/had the same problem with the start page (and the 404 page) and nothing could remove it (adaware, spybot, spywarenuker or something, mcafee). I found a program and instructions on www.geek.com that can help me, but I'm too lazy to do it, because it's pretty complicated.

Try searching for the site that keeps coming back as the start page. :)

Ah..all of my problems are fixed due to an antivirus program that Classic Rocker showed me. It's called AVG, and it's easy to set up. Just go to google and type AVG and you should find it. It's worth it.

Edit: Actually, I do have one more problem. Whenever I go to places like my xanga or the forum that I made for my school, with Internet Explorer, the font size is HUGE. For my xanga, it should be around 8 or 10, but it looks like it's 14 or 16 and it's really annoying. I am assuming it happened because of the spyware and viruses that I just cleaned out, because it only happened yesterday, and today, but I don't understand why it's still there if I have cleaned up my system. Does anyone know how to fix this? If nobody has an answer, it's fine since I'll be using Mozilla anyway.

if you have a mouse wheel: hold ctrl and scroll up (or down, I forgot). It should change the font size. If not, you can change it in the internet options.

We're using AVG on the family PC, but my problem goes deeper than normal spyware and virusses, it seems. :(

I knew there was a way to do that, but I just couldn't remember it. Also, I tried the internet options and there was no thing about font size..just the fonts. Anyway, I'll go try that right now. Thanks.

So um I just tried that with firebird. I kept doing it and the font didn't stop growing! IT WAS AMAZING!

It might stop eventually but I did it forever.

IE stops after like 5 scrolls.
