Groening also said plans were still under way for a Simpsons animated movie, but said that work on a big screen version of the hit cartoon won't begin until the TV series bows out, which could be some time.
Well, I think its time to bow out the TV series. After 16 seasons, you start running out of ideas and have to dig deep to find something, as I've noticed lately. But at least its happy to hear he's still thinking/working on it.
But I still think it will be Wayland Smithers. It's the most obvious but then again, you never know what they are gonna pull on us. And in the article why did they say Reverend Lovejoy could be a contender in the possible wedding? He's already married to Mrs. Lovejoy (cant remember her name atm).

i have no idea who it might be...but wasn't there allready an episode about gay stuff? with the gay parade or something? i don't remember...
anyway, i heard about a movie being in the works at the same time that Final Fantasy: The spirits within was in the works...so a few years ago, i can't wait for it to come out...but i don't want the series to go away either, it's still funny, IMO.

Although Smithers is obvious, it might be too obvious. They'll want to throw a twist in there.
I'm thinking Principal Skinner
They have had a couple episodes with gays. One with the guy at the collectibles shop(I think) I can't remember his name. I think it might be John. "Zap Zap"
Or the one where that guy makes out with Homer.
But a movie. Wow. At least it's animated. Watch them try to save the world or something. Imagine if they had a live action Simpsons movie. I wonder who would they cast as who?

I for one, hope the Simpsons stays on the air as long as it possibly can. I mean yea, its not as good as it used to be, I'll admit that. But it still beats most other cartoons out there.

Does everyone remember the Simpsons game for Nintendo? It was a space invaders game (can't remember the actual name). I always thought they'd end up making a movie out of the video game concepts.

I don't know about the Lenny and Carl thing. I think just Lenny. I mean he is obsessed with Carl. Anybody remember Mount Carlmore?

What about thaty John guy? Hes already gay. And Flanders is half-way there anyways.
Or Patti and Selma. :p
Reviving this old thread but, I just watched the episode where Marge goes to jail. Lionel Hutz runs out of the room, and calls somebody, saying that he needs a drink. The guy he calls tells him that he loves him. And Hutz says he loves him back. Maybe he's the one?

That won't happen for 2 reasons.
#1. The guy he said it to was David Crosby who is a celebrity and as far as I know, he isn't gay.
#2. The person who voiced Lionel Hutz (Phil Hartman) was murdered by his wife. The character hasn't been back since and will continue to be absent from the series.
I stand corrected for 2 reasons:
1. I had no idea who David Crosby was.
2. I didn't know he was murdered.

this may be a stupid suggestion, but why does the person who comes out of the closet have to be male?

The producers said it was a gay marriage. I always thought gay=male. I may be wrong though...
