So who here plays DDR?

DO YOU?!

If you do, what Mode do you play it on, What's your favorite DDR song, have you ever played it in the arcade, any weird DDR stories, and lastly what's the hardest thing you've ever completed on DDR?

Mine are:
I play heavy mode
My Favorite song is probably Living in America
I've played it arcade style though not often closest DDR arcade is like 2 hours away.

Weird Story:
This weird guy was all "Yeah I play at home" but he wouldn't play at the arcade and he just stood there and watched me forever. Must have done like 5 sets of 5 songs. Around 1 hour of watching me I would estimate.

Weird.

I passed Rythym and Police on heavy. That was some hard stuff. Gallops and crossovers... Not fun.

Also I've decided I'll never be able to pull off any 10 foot songs.

Well, I play on Heavy (or Maniac - 'cause half the ones I play are Japanese mixes on a modded PSX) and I'm at about an 8-foot right now. I actually don't own DDR myself, my friend does and he also owns two Red Octane Metal Pads (http://redoctane.com/redoctanemetalpad.html), so playing with him is generally as good as playing in an arcade (though we do that from time to time as well).

I've been working my way up (skill-wise) for a few months now. But I only get to play it like, once every two weeks for maybe an hour.

I'm not sure what my favorite song is. If you're talking about dance steps I really like In the Navy, Heaven, and Shiny Disco Balls. As for favorite music in the songs, I really don't have one.

I've only played the official DDR in two places; a small town called Mackinac, Michigan, and when the county fair comes to town. We have a DDR knockoff in an "eatery" chain called Kahunaville, but the steps are diagonal, along with a center step.
I liked "Kick The Can" and "Boom Boom Dollar".
I'm pretty fat, so anything higher than the most basic level is too physically strenuous for me.

The knockoff is called Pump It Up. I've played it with a girl; it's a nice challenge to regular DDR players.

I played heavy mode, I played all around the continent, I've been in competitions, and I have a partner named Jen who plays it with me. I'm god, pleased to meet you. :)

I like playing Tsugaru. 32nds are fun to trot on.

Question is can you pass:

Sakura, Bag, Legend of Maxx, Maxx Unlimited, Max 300, Paranoia Survivor? (Is that the 10 foot Paranoia?)

lol.

Then maybe you'll be god.

Yeah, that's true.. there are some I can't pass. Haven't passed Maxx yet, but there's a guy who's better in me in my area; happens to be my partner's sister. Heh. I think he got a C on it with 4 difficulty. That's crazy.

I usually play on 8-level's now; it gives me an andrenaline rush so I don't die as quickly. (Not the foot rating, the rating in options mode measuring how fast you die)

I play on Heavy mode
I play at home with two Red Octane pads
I play at the arcade as well

hardest song i've completed is Legend of Maxx on heavy however only passed it once. I can't seem to pass it anymore LOL... and that one time I did it was only a C grade.

So the hardest song I can complete consistently is Healing Vision 2mb Angelic Mix, and the Paranoia's except for Survivor.

Mama put my guns in the ground
I can't shoot them anymore
That cold black cloud is comin' down
Feels like I'm knockin' on heaven's door

For those of you who have this on the PS2, do you guys have the dance pads? Which ones do you have? I'm thinking about getting the new DDR for my brother, but I want to know which dance pads are better than the others.

I have a Madcatz beat pad. It's good for people with bigger feet.

It all depends whether you want to slide to notes easily or stomp to notes.

If you want to go out, go for RedOctane pads or other metal pads. You'll spend over a hundred for each of them, at least. But apparently they're good. I myself find the Madcatz fine.

Eww... Go all out on the Red Octane Ignition dance pad. http://redoctane.com/ignitionpad.html

$110, and ssssooooooooooo worth every penny - this is coming from a poor man :p Don't trust the knock-off brands if you want soft-pads (Buy and Shop, etc). If you're getting arcade-pads, they're great, but for soft-pads nothing measures up to the Ignition.

I can AA Heavy songs on my Madcatz. Anyone who can't play on a Madcatz well sucks. :D

Well I play Dancing Stage Megamix on PS2. Couldn't find DDR on ps2.

But it's fun. I just wish there were more songs >"<

I don't suck. I'm far from perfect, but I don't suck. I usually get a "B" on all 8-Foot songs. The skill I've built up is all from playing at my friends house two or three times a month. But I bought a pad and brought it over there, and he bought a Buy & Shop arcade-pad.

You can say what you like, but I've danced on almost all of them and the Octane is by far the most comfortable (good, unobtrusive padding) and responsive dance pad I've found.
