What should I do to kill the time?
Dream about Safari 1.3's RSS feeds? Perhaps the amazing new dashboard? I wonder if Longhorn will have time to copy the dashboard? Took them like 5 years to get Quartz down.
Or maybe, I should think about what I'm going to search for with the new and improved (even further) search?
I'd watch the WDC keynote again, but that would use my bandwidth.
I know! I'll buy the next million songs and win a new iPod :D

The newest OS X upgrade, 10.4. Gekko got his hands on a preview copy.

Gekko got his hands on a lot of stuff before it came out.
Puma, 10.1. Office v.X, Photoshop 7.0 (before it was announced, go figure), numerous Safari builds, Keynote, Final Cut Express, Panther, Tiger, QuickTime builds.
Came back to bite me in the ass a couple times.
Here's a screenshot, notice a few changes. Got the dashboard open (F12), calculator on there, world clocks, the sweet tile game, address book, calendar, stickies, and iTunes. I got the options for Stickies and world clock open to see. the real calcuator has a new programmer mode, which I opened up. Don't ask me what it means.
Quicktime is 6.6, slight visual changes are noticeable in my PSU trailer :D Preview now has a fit to window option when viewing images. The search is open up, and MY GOD IS IT FAST! Literally if I were to type Gamecube, it would be done within 3 seconds, and this is an old Mac (733 G4).
iChat seems the same, because I don't have 3-way video capabilities. And Safari, my lovely Safari. w00t! RSS feeds :D Also has private browsing, to not log anything in your history or accept cookies. pr0n! Only other thing I noticed, it has mail the contents, and mail link to this page options.
Tiger > Panther > Jaguar > Puma > Longhorn
I was nice, I said longhorn over the old, slower than hell 10.0... only because of the speed. ;)
If you want to download the 1.6GB, and got a place to install it, let me know. I can get you Tiger.
Now, I must go find a way to get a incorporate RSS feeds into vBulletin. Mwahahahahaha!

I think its slightly creepy that your talking about yourself in the third person.
And is this thing some sort of...browser, or farm animal that helps your computer.
Wouldnt it be awesome if it was a real tiger you cram into your CPU and then it can, like, hunt gazelles for you and stuff, so you dont have to do it.
Or a tiger in a computer costume would be even better.
But seriously, what is is, and is it only for Macs?
EDIT: Gekko, do you have enough f****** things open on your screen?

It's Mac OS X 10.4, the latest version of the OS. All versions of OS X have their own cat name, but it really wasn't used in promotions until Jaguar.
10.0 = Cheetah
10.1 = Puma
10.2 = Jaguar
10.3 = Panther
10.4 = Tiger, coming 2005, me thinks
Look how far we've come since I last installed Windows :D
BTW, added the attachment I forgot. WIDGETS!

Mwahaha. Got it. Way too easy considering vB already incorporated RSS feeds, just have to enable it.
Guess I should turn it on at GT too... but then you wouldn't see my sexy sig. Hmm... maybe not.

G3, G4, G5, DVD-ROM, 128MB RAM, built-in firewire, 2GB HD space.
Don't think you need the DVD-ROM, it just comes on a DVD. If you have 2 HDs, or 2 partitions, I'd recommend using one to install it on the other. I burned mine to DVD, but the installer didn't run. Wouldn't boot to the drive. I had to load up one OS, open the installer file (Systems/Packages/OSInstaller or something) and run it that way. Problem is you can't install onto the drive you boot up to, which is why you normally boot to CD. Thankfully, I have 2 drives, and one needed an upgrade from Jaguar :)
But if you got that, use bittorrent to download the file. If you've never used it before, you connect to multiple people, and share the file. You get bits and pieces from everybody else, and you also give up what you have to them. The good part, actually allows everyone with partial downloads to still help you. the bad side, if no one has the full file, you'll never finish. That happened to me with Panther, I would get 80% done and then everyone who had completed the download left, so there's no way to get the rest. So proper etiquette is to stay connected after you download it (or reconnect after you install.)
File link removed. Let me know if you still need it, or search google for tiger .torrent and you'll get what you want ;)

PM.
Safari 1.3 is supposed to be coming out for Panther, which is good, because I'm not upgrading my laptop that I'll have with me when I go back to base. I'll miss RSS feeds. Who am I kidding? Safari 1.3 is leaked too :p

Ok, thanks for the link in the PM. Now, before I begin, is this a preview copy or is this what's actually going to be released in the coming months? Is it safe to register it under my name and stuff?
gekko

It's a preview copy. This is what will be released, except that the later will be a newer build, and this one will not be upgradable after that.
Yes, it's safe to register. But it's always better to choose not to. I've registered them before, no biggie. Apple doesn't know you weren't at WWDC and handed a copy.
