This (http://www.gametrailers.com/gt_vault/t_finalfantasy_12_e3_2k4.html) is new to me.
For some reason, it's not creamin my twinkie. I think it's Vaan's face...I'm not sure if I will buy this game now.

Nah, not just that. I've read about how the battle system is being changed and the leveling too. I just don't really see anything which makes it that great game FFX was to me. I think I'm going to feel confined in this game because now I'm spoiled from Morrowind which let me interact with most things, completely changing what I want in video games.
Honestly, I don't really enjoy video games that much anymore. Halo 2, Fable, GTA:SA, and Citizen Zero are basically the only games I'm looking forward too.

But i dont know how you can judge it on what you have read. Critics know f*** all. reviews are crap. Experience says it all.
Im buying it no matter what i read, what people say, or whatever. Ive been looking foreward to this game for too long.
I think its just that your expectations are too high, your treating it like an MMORPG, which it isnt. Of course compared to Morrowwind it might suck, but its not Morrowwind, its in the FF series.
And they pretty much change the battle system and leveling system for almost every game.
But i do agree that FFX was a great game, however if they re-made FF7 for the PS2, i would be super happy. i think they shoudl do that, add some extra stuff, subtle changes, but basically the same game. I loved that game, and thats the one that got me started on the FF series.
But FFXII better come here early in 2005, instead of what i read, which was December of 2005, which is more than a year..

My experience with the FF series has been of 1) Great Stories and 2) No replayability. I'm not saying that other people wouldnt enjoy playing it more then once, I just wouldn't. Hell, I got bored of KOTOR after the first go. Low Attention span :-o
I really don't have much money, so each game I get must offer lots of replayability. Of the games I listed all but one (GTASA) guarantee me 100+ hours of gameplay.
I'll wait for the game to come ou andt see what you say about it before I decide to make an investment. How about that?

No, they've changed the levelling up system almost every game. The only real difference between the battle systems is the ATB bar and whether a game had or not. FFXII is completely changing everything about the battle system. Completely. Brand spanking new for for FF (except FFXI).
Not that I'm complaining. Square-Enix has, for the most part, done FF very well, even when they tried something new (the exceptions being FFII [Japanese, not IV] and FFVIII [a second play-through changed my mind to actually liking the game, but I still think the Junction system is too complicated and clunky for its own good]). I have faith they'll make FFXII excellent.
Ace: You shouldn't choose not to buy a game because of a character's face (O_o) or because they changed stuff. If you're worried about replayability and such, just rent the game. That doesn't cost too much, and you get to try the game yourself. If you don't like the game enough to buy (or if you finish it in the rental period and don't plan on playing it again), then don't buy it. If you do want to buy the game, then do so.
And Morrowind and FF are two completely different types of games. Both RPGs, yes, but still very different. Just as Morrowind had a lot of interactivity that FF doesn't have, FF alsop has a lot of stuff Morrowind doesn't have (like entertainment).
At least wait a bit before you decide; sample a bit more of what the game has to offer and allow for some people to get hands-on impressions and stuff. Import reviews, etc.
*doesn't really care if you buy the game or not; just wanted to type*

So i want to know then, how did they change the battle system? Whats new? What did they remove, or improve on? And how do you people know they drastically changed it, like, where did you hear it from, 'cuz i havent heard anything about it being drastically different, well, i havent heard details on it yet.

IGN and stuff. Have you ever played the .hack games? The battle system is a lot more similar to those games or other MMORPGs than past Final Fantasy games. More similar to FFXI than FFX.

If the battle system is like the .Hack series It will be interesting to see how they do multiple characters in one battle. If I rember in .Hack you couldent control your partner....but I could be wrong.
Anyway It looks like it has an ok story line. I might just pick it up to see what been changed whats new and how the "New system" plays out. I wish they would come out with games similar to the older games, but if SE put work in the game and are comming up with fresh ideals. I have faith that there must be some aspect of the game thats worth tring, if not for the story or the gameplay then just the new ideals.

The battle system is in real time now, which means you wont take turns slapping each other. I absolutely hate turn based battle systems, and it was the only bad thing about previous final fantasy's. I myself am very pleased that they are changing the battle system. They cant make it any worse, right? I mean what's more boring than taking turns hitting each other?
I've been looking at screen shots, and I downloaded a trailer a while back, and I think this game looks absolutely awesome. I can't wait to get it.

I actually kind of liked the battle system for X-2, its kind of real time ( in a way) but its still turn based.
If you havent played heres an example:
Rikku and Yuna can attack someone at the exact same second that Pain is beng attacked.
Me personally have no problem with this, i slightly like the turn based style, i just feel its necessary now with FF games. But i guess a change would be nice.
