Saw this on slickdeals and decided to show you guys since there might be a few (like me) who haven't played EQ (doubt I will, but might try it just to see what the hoopla was all abou) :p
http://everquest.station.sony.com/trilogy/download.jsp
And you have to get a free station.com account which is easy enough. And the download is 1.2 gigs btw

I could DL that and install it... just to keep me warm untill World of Warcraft. :D
It would be nice on my profile for the Beta test. :)

EQ hates me. With a massive and giant passion that burns so brightly that small woodland creatures are incinerated by its heat if they draw too near.
EQ hates me like Satan hates Jesus.
EQ hates me like a fat kid loves cake.
EQ hates me as much as an inanimate MMORPG can hate a living breating human being.
I originally bought the "Everquest Trilogy" pack thing back when all EQ had were the two expansion packs. My dad tried to install it, but our video card wasn't good enough. My dad, genius that he is, decided to try to download the software for a better one without having the actual hardware. Shot our color settings. We had like...only 16 colors.
We eventually got that fixed and bought a better graphics card (like a year later). Installed Everquest. I played it. Loved it. Got hooked on it. Computer fried. Completely. It was toast. I think we buried it when we realized we couldn't fix it (or maybe its sitting in a box somewhere...I don't know).
That was in Sept. '02. Started using my mom's laptop. EQ didn't fit, so I couldn't play it.
Lost all my data since my mom wouldn't pay for a game I couldn't play (and I couldn't afford it myself, super poor).
Then my dad bought a computer. One more than capable of handling EQ. No internet. Had to wait a few months for that.
He got internet eventually. I installed EQ and began anew. Except it wouldn't accept my dad's card. Couldn't play if I couldn't subscribe.
We got that figured out. I started playing again. I had a wondrous time...for about a week. I don't remember which plan I got, but my subscription was ended long before it was supposed to. It said we had to pay again. My dad was having nothing of that, so I lost EQ once again.
That was, I think, when I finally realized that I was never destined to be with EQ. I would never actually get past level 12.
Woe is me....
Probably why I keep neglecting to buy FFXI... Too many bad EQ memories... *sniffle*
*shrugs and walks away*

My video card isn't good enough. Was planning on getting one before WoW came out.

Not good enough for EQ? Good lord it must be an old video card (considering the game came out in 1999 I believe but correct me if I'm wrong)

Actually I don't really have one...built into motherboard. Kept putting off getting one when I built my comp...and its been over a year. Weird that some games work while others don't. I can play Unreal 2004, GTA3, PSO, Anarchy Online and such but when I try to run this game says no 3D devices found.

 That's just weird.
Ok I've played 1 hour of this.
The tutorial was SO boring! :( It was terrible.
The screen is full of these screens, I can't see where I'm going.
I want to use the mouse to look around me, but I have to hold right-click all the time. I hope there's an option to switch this?

Let's make a GT Friend list?
My station name is Canyarion, my character (female w00t-elf hunter) name is Canyariel.
This game really gives me an impression of what WoW will play like. :)
