I read the article on CNN.

http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/07/01/cosby.comments.ap/index.html

Bill Cosby and Jesse Jackson gave a harsh talk to African American kids that listen to rap and use racist words.

I actually agreed with what he said-- he atlked about how black people go around complaining, but then don't do anything about it.. that yeah, the world isn't fair, but going around speaking improper Englash would not get a white person a job, and it won't get a black person a job either.

heh, i'm not singleing out black people. bill cosby was saying get black people going. he is proud of his people and hates to see them not succeed. i know there are just as many white people that are ignorant and uneducated, i'm not that stupid. i just dont think it is fair for the "people" to be saying bill cosby is a "classist" because he's making fun of the poor people, he is not doing that, he just wants his people to do better. as i want my people to do better and so does everyone. people these days are hyper sensitive.

I remember one MTV movie or music awards thing, some black comedian named wanda ( i forget her last name, but her voice is annoying) went up and started to talk to Bill Cosby in the audience.

She asked him questions, and she talked in teh typical black stereotype of talking. Then she asked him something about how things used to be ( or something like that) And his response was " I remember when people spoke English."

I have "mad respect" if you will for Bill Cosby, because he is trying to tell the younger people to be educated and not get into gangs and whatnot.

There's a lot of all kinds of people who are uneducated and "disgraceful" and need to get jobs and learn to speak proper english...

And anything with Jesse Jackson's name...
is, by default, put to shame...
although he is not fully to blame...
ok yes he is, and for the sake of rhyming, fame...

Yes I need education.............

an MCSE to be exact. Bill Cosby if you ever read this post, please pay for my course. I will contribute to becoming an educated person.

Actually work should be paying for it. I've gotta make a proposal to the head d00d of my work >,<

It's amazing how you can hear or read what he said and come away with the summarization that black people are uneducated and disgraceful and need to get jobs and learn to speak proper english. I didn't come away with that, and a lot of the black people I know don't fit that description. Is that really the way they are in Colorado Springs?

i know a whole lot of black people that dont fit that description, I have a lot of black friends. actually i have more white friends that are lazy bums with no high school education or jobs, who are in their twenties. Yeah, i wish someone would say something to these guys too. For some reason I can't get my ideas out straight and am making it look like I am racist. Which by no stretch of the imagination am I anywhere near racist. I also wish that people in general would take care of their own existance, and take responsibility for their actions.

in this one case, bill cosby said: dont be blasting your music with f-this, and f-that when there is a 4 year old child in the back, take responsibility

he's trying to help his black community to understand they need to help themselves. unfortunately he didn't speak to the redneck bum white guys too.

I don't like Jessie Jackson...

As for this thread in general, I'm sure you had good intentions Crash, but it's not good to single out a race like this. Every race has their issues... and I wouldn't be suprised if someone took this thread as an attack. I don't disagree with many of the things said in this topic, but it probab;y would have been better if it wasn't posted at all.
