Well Michael Moore is once again proving that he is a complete self-obsessed paranoid moron yet again:

Spider-Man 2 Conspires to Silence Michael Moore
by Scott Ott

(2004-06-30) -- Spider-Man 2 is part of "a web of deception, a conspiracy to silence" Oscar-winning documentarist Michael Moore, according to the filmmaker whose Fahrenheit 9/11 is America's current number one box office smash.

"It's not just the cynical timing of the release of Spider-Man 2," said Mr. Moore, "but the movie endorses the unilateral and so-called righteous use of power to overcome so-called evil. This is a thinly-veiled rebuttal of Fahrenheit 9/11 and the entire security plank of the Democrat National Committee platform."

Mr. Moore added that buying a ticket to Spider-Man 2 is "tantamount to voting for George Bush."

Wow, now thats hilarious :D

EDIT: WHOOPS!!! Just found out thats from a satire site, and its not a real news story. Its still pretty funny, though. :D

It's ridiculous and dumb. Mr. Moore needs a new hobby.

He never actually said it, if you'll notice my edit. It did initially strike me as being especially outrageous even for Moore, but then again you never know.

Just to clarify again, this is not a real news story.

Yeah, seemed too crazy to be true. Saying that stuff would only make people take him less seriously.

You have to remember many studio's had rights to F9/11 but then shoved it out to the next studio, etc etc because they were scared to release the movie.

But eh, I knew it was fake before I even saw the edit. Michael Moore could've said "wait a month after S2 and release F9/11 but hey, he got 1st place and best selling documentary in a week ever in movie theatres so he's happy enough. And I applaud Lion Gate's for taking the chance and actually releasing the documentary.

The idea is he releases the movie before the votes

Michael Moore isn't THAT insecure about his movie.. That reeks of fake damage control.
