I was just chilling in my barracks room, waiting for formation to dismiss us for the night so I can go try to buy FSW at the PX which closes at 6pm (1 hour from now, doesn't look good). I am told we need to go back to the ramp (where we keep our vehicles), and I go there, we move one of the vehicles, and start moving all the gear from one, onto another. Then, as we're about done, we're told to put it all back on the one it came from, move the vehicle back where it was, and I returned to the barracks, having wasted 1 hour of my time and accomplished nothing but sweating my ass off in 108 degree heat.

It's just one of the many examples of the bull**** I have to put up with in my job. I love the Marine Corps, but I can't stand the bull****. That's why I'm not re-enlisting, and I would get out now if they would let me. My unit has the lowest re-enlistment rate in the Marine Corps, this base has the lowest re-enlistment rate in the Marine Corps. Hmm... wonder why?

Why did you enlist in the Marines in the first place? Did you not know of the bull****, and thought it'd be fun? Or just went for the hell of it?

Bull**** is supposed to end. It doesn't.

Guess what? It happened again, and I won't be able to get FSW tonight.

You have to go through that Bull**** because there will always be things you don't WANT to do but have to man up to and do them anyway. I guess they do it to ensure discipline and a good work ethic between the corps.

Plus, the faster you do it the faster you'll be done. I think it's all a lesson...an annoying one though :-o

You've obviously never spent a day in the military. None of this stuff needs to be done. They only hurt the discipline and work ethic, and the faster you work, the longer you will be standing by. You won't ever be done.

With all that is going on right now, I dont know why anyone would want to join the military.
