I like lots of different kinds of food. I am not usually too adventurous but once I have tried something I feel so accomplished. What do you all think about gourmet food? Have you ever tried anything that would be considered weird?
I have had snails and duck (that's the weirdest I have ever gotten)
My dad has had snake (he's in the army... at least that is the excuse he uses :p )

Lamb Liver, Brains, and Testicles:beat:
Cow Brains
Pig Tongue
Caviar is pretty weird too
Octopus
Squid
Yellowtail Heart (it's a tradition to eat the heart of the First yellow tail you catch).
Ants
Cockroach
and finally a Baby :)

Yeah, your mom gave me her quiche last night. :p j/k.
But ive had caviar before, and its pretty good. Every boxing day ( for those that dont know Dec. 26) my Grandma makes really gourmet things, because shes really high-class...and from england.
Last year, she made lots of sushi and stuff with caviar, and it was so good. and gourmet. :D

I love quiche too, but the red hot spicy kind. Some people dont make them like that but I like to put some hot sauce or, Cayanne Pepper powder onto it.

To Americans, gourmet would be anything that doesn't come out of a paper bag and have the name extra value attached.

Ok thanks :)
Gourmet is like home-made food?

well i was being sarcastic.... but it can be home made. i would refer to gourmet as anything out of the ordinary and little bit higher class than say hotdogs and pizza. some examples from my list would include:
quiche
fondue
escargot
pate
caviar
filet mignon
fine cheeses
any meal made with wine sauce
cornish hens
duck

In that case my mom makes an awsome pot roast. :D
